It's a pity this isn't made easier. Whenever I try it doesn't list gas and electric separate.LeedsJasp said:this morning I decided to do some more price comparisons.except this time I changed the drop down menu from dual fuel to elec only / gas only.i was shocked to find that on both the individual fuel tariffs, the units were significantly lower than ANY of the dual fuel deals from ANY of the suppliers.the daily standing charges were slightly higher (approx 4 pence per day elec) but this is cancelled out by the Lower 3pence per unit electricity + 1.5pence gas.Symbio was the cheapest for the elec & ZOG for the gas.
My dual fuel spend is £70 per month but by splitting the fuel I save £5 per month !
i only need to use 3 electric units per day and 2 gas to offset the daily charge & start saving. i will be Switching again from my new supplier asap.I searched 6 other postcodes around the country and this was the case for all of them.( though different suppliers) OUTFOX didn’t even appear in any of the results for either gas or elec.Seems like they only want dual fuel customers.anyone wanting to get away from outfox terrible customer service, should try this.i know it is old fashioned but it is going back to the old days when we had two bills.but who cares about that.

go on moneysupwrmarket.com.Do a normal dual fuel search and get the results up.then go into the filters and select the box where it will list all suppliers(even those they can’t switch you to). Then also change the fuel type in the filters.
It is so easy. And the results are
shocking.4pence per elec unit and 2 pence per gas can be saved. The daily charge increase is moderate and can be cancelled out with minimum consumptions.
the trouble is- we have all been “conditioned” into buying dual fuel & having to put up with the associated shenanigans from companies like outfox the market.

I have been using MSE site. It sometimes works, but as you say, it doesn't encourage you to use seperate suppliers. I used seperate a while back, but savings were offset by the extra hassle when I wanted to switch. The Electric wentheough, but the gas didn't and yet the new supllier wanted to chafge for both!

Clif - how strange. I have since checked 14 supply regions and Outfox didn’t even appear in any of them. What supply region are you ? ( 1st part of postcode ?)Clif said:I often compare Outfox The Market duel-fuel v Symbio/ZOG single fuel and Outfox The Market is always cheapest for my usage!
also, how come you are always number 1 in phone queue when everyone else has to wait ages.are they using caller display to cherry pick the calls? this suggests to me they are not treating people equally.which seems to be a common theme judging from this tread and all the other stuff I have read online about this company1 -
My postcode is NN7, my tariff is Fix'd 20 9.0, my usage is electricity 3000 and gas 6600, Outfox The Market Fix'd 20 11.0 is still the cheapest currently available!0

Clif - we’ll something you are saying isn’t making sense because I have just done a search for your supply region using the postcode NN7 3DS which is station road Northampton & the cheapest supplier for elec is Symbio & the cheapest gas is ZOG.It wasn’t necessary for me to enter specific usage details as you supplied because I just interrogated the tariff information label and compared the unit prices & daily standing charges.Outfox wasn’t anywhere on the results.so you are either making a mistake somewhere or making this up.Clif said:My postcode is NN7, my tariff is Fix'd 20 9.0, my usage is electricity 3000 and gas 6600, Outfox The Market Fix'd 20 11.0 is still the cheapest currently available!0 -
You're the one making the mistake. Why do you think comparison sites ask for usage info? The TIL is utterly useless, just like Ofgem. The cheapest supplier is likely to vary with the usage.LeedsJasp said:

Symbio are currently £408.93 for a standard meter and £422.49 for an E7 meter with my usage and ZOG are £217.53, however, Fix'd 20 9.0 is £606.84 and Fix'd 20 11.0 is £616.08! Are you checking Symbio and ZOG websites because comparison websites are often out of date?0

No.i am not making a mistake.i 1st checked the lowest usage by selecting the option on one bed flat/one person/away during day.this throws up the core costs.as unexplained in my pervious posts, you only need to use two or three elec units and one or two gas to offset the daily charge.which is the case for a light user.so obviously anyone using more fuel will save even more.the whole quote system is a red herring.the tariff prices are fixed per region.the unit prices don’t change depending on usage.so I am right.in any case,I compared with higher usages and the results were still the same.Symbio Elec & ZOG gas.unfortunately I can’t add screen shots here.but yes I did go on their websites and the published unit prices and daily standing charges areGerry1 said:

correct.i juts think everyone should know about this.there is no need to stay with one supplier for both fuels.especially not outfox the market.
