Mister_G, an electricity only customer is in the minority, therefore, your cheapest deal is probably Symbio Energy?

JJ_Egan, I'm only a very satisfied customer and couldn't believe their 2 star rating on MSE, therefore, I try to inform everyone that customer service and price is second to none for duel-fuel!

Yes, it is indeed, but I would suggest that electricity only customers have even more of a need to secure the best deal as it represents a larger part of their energy costs.
  • Look, anyone even considering dealing with this company; let me be the voice of sensible reason.
Before you sign up. Do your research on this lot. Know who you are dealing with before you commit. It only takes 30 minutes. You can do it while you are watching TV in the evening. Search them out on google. And read past the 1st page of results. Have a look at the ASA rulings about this company. Do a quick search on companies house. They are part of FISCHER & FISCHER FUTURE HEAT.
Know what you are letting yourselves in for. You will have to wait a minimum of one month for any credit to be refunded. They conduct their customer services on Facebook for goodness sake. I mean come on. What kind of company does that. Why can’t their call centre just deal with stuff on the 1st call.
We know why....it’s all about CLICK BAIT on their Facebook group. But what these people don’t realise is that all the honest publicity is hyperlinked all over the internet. They cannot drown it out. No matter how hard they try.

Talldave, OFTM are always cheapest for the many, not the few!
I thought after all the caveats you came out with after the last loop of challenges you'd remember to add "for dual fuel, E7 customers"?

As you yourself have said, Symbio are the cheapest electricity supplier "for the many".

Peoples_Princess, I always migrate to cheaper tariffs via their free telephone number 0800 103 2702 and I'm usually number one in the queue, unlike most energy companies where I was usually number 30 or 40 in the queue!

Sorry but i don't believe that is the truth . A few posts yes ten posts maybe but 50 + post all saying the same thing or rubbishing other viewpoints  all on the same thread/ topic .

Well CLIF, I think this just about says it all really :

In all fairness, not much has changed. Certainly not their financials or the very salubrious surroundings 😂

My direct debit has hardly changed since I started the plan, it was £58 per month, and nearly two and a half years later I'm paying £60 per month and I'm about £100 in credit, which is fine by me.
    • What issues have people had?
    • Were they making miscalculations on your bills?
    • Should people like me go back over past bills and check they were applying the correct tariffs etc?

I'm on a variable tariff so I expect there will be variation, and I also expect there will be notifications about tariff changes, I don't know why people would complain about that?
I'm not sure people here need to be micromanaging their account unless there have been large increases in bills or reports of miscalculations.

Link doesn't work, but I would trust any company licensed by OFGEM as that offers me protection.

Offices aren't salubrious?  Fine by me.  I don't work there.  Keeping costs down presumably helps them to offer consistently cheap prices.
