Just dropping by to say that I don't think I'll be able to save any more than I have. I'm not disappointed though! I have a chunk of savings to carry forward and we've had to have work done to our home which we benefit from. If I hadn't had a grip on the finances we wouldn't have been able to do that
See you all in 2019 with renewed enthusiasm!

#112 posting £350 for November. I'm definitely not going to meet my £6000 target but I will sneak over the £5000 mark. This is what I realistically thought we could save this year but I wanted to try for 6k. I don't feel too disappointed because we ended up with a few bigger expenses than we anticipated at the beginning of 2018. I am positive for next year though. We have a much better grasp on our finances now than we did this time last year.#112 Save 12k in 2018: 5000/6000

Number 33 declaring £1400 for November. Slightly less this month due to various other expenses but I am quite happy with it.0

#113 declaring £706.82 saved this month - YTD total is £6,922.91
My save 12K in 2018 challenge is £7,500 - I will need to save £577.09 to hit that target. My personal finance goal is to hit £21,000 by the end of the year - I will need to save £574.38 to hit that target so there's only a couple of quid in it really.
I'm determined to reach both despite December being a heavy spending month - good luck to all in the final stretchSave 12K 2019 #37 - £3,512.97 / £6,000 (July)

Just realised that my £1400 for November will take me just over my £25k goal:j
Delighted with that result, but I will still aim to add to the pot at the end of December to finish off the year.
Been doing this challenge for a while now and so glad at the focus it has given me on my finances. I am, for the most part, saving for retirement so that I don't need to work until I am 70! I am 46 just now and hoping to be able to start winding down towards retirement in 10 years.
I will be signing up in 2019 and trying to beat this years savings. Best of luck everyone for the last month of the challenge.0 -
Sorry to go off topic but where are you all putting this saved cash to get best benefit?
really interested in getting involved next year but also interested in where you are putting it to maximise or a link to the thread you might use for this.0 -
I have only been counting my saving into investments in stock market... I am now at £10510 for 2018, made up of £5200 into pension and £5310 into my S&S ISA. I have one final investment contribution to go in early December (£400), which will take me to £10910, falling a little short of the target, but I plan to ramp it up for next year!!0

Hello, I am hoping to join you for 2019 if that would be ok? Think we would be looking at 16k which would be pretty difficult to near impossible but I'd rather aim big and fall short. Most of our savings will come from just cutting back and being thrifty. I can definitely pick up extra hours at work, just need some encouragement to take them at the moment.
If you make extra money how do you do it? I have some shares but these are long term investments. I have looked into matched betting and although I understand the process etc I just haven't ever got round to it, is it worth it?SPC #062
