Everything ticking along ok, I stepped on the scales and nearly had a heart attack! Quite ashamed at myself tbh, I have been a complete glutton this last year, and Xmas didn't help. We have started attempting to eat a little more healthier, but not sure how good it will be. I have to get outside more. No more excuses!
The girl has had an unconditional offer from one of the unis she would be happy to go to!!!!! She is holding off accepting because she has an interview at another one in a few weeks, and is waiting to here if she will be invited to interview at the top uni for her course. We almost hope she doesn't tbh, London so crazy expensive, and she really really loved the other two unis environment. But to be offered an unconditional offer on the strength of her portfolio and interview at the best uni for the course outside London is an amazing achievement and has really boosted her confidence. I am alternating between pride and terror right now, she still seems so young, but bizarrely mature 😭😂
Otherwise things going ok, I need to try and speak to someone about pruning our tree in the back garden, and want to look at getting some garden pots for planting. There were loads at the tip this week, so will book another appointment and see if I can nab some.

Life is ticking along. Finances are a bit of a mess!
The small one has had an awful week at school, hoping we are turning the corner. Starting to dread school pick up again. His one to one changed before Xmas as his old one left, he seems to like the new one, but think he is testing boundaries. She also isn't as experienced as the old one. Hoping it gets better with time. Also reinforces the need for a space at the special needs secondary school.
We have finally done our weekend away. It has been lovely. The wierd one really struggled though. He hates being away from home,it's his safe space, add in all the teenage hormones and he had a massive meltdown in the hotel room. Apparently he was missing the cats, and they would be missing him, I got the girl (she stayed home with them) to send some pics. They were totally living their best life, quiet house, all the chairs to sit on and apparently spent most of the time asleep on the girls bed with her 🙄😂
The smallest also struggled when we went out to eat. The restaurant was huge and busy (buffet style) and was so noisy. I annoyingly left the ear defenders in the carwhich didn't help! He was better once we left.
While we were there we went shopping for new clothes for the small two. The smallest looks so scruffy in his uniform as he hasn't grown much and it is getting old now. So got his feet measured and new shoes (only gone up half a size in 10months!) And a new coat and hoodie. Then I went online later and ordered new school shirts and trousers. Totally not in the budget, I feel like I have been overspending since October! No debt, but really struggling to make sure that everything is covered. And I have been trying not to use my Xmas and birthday money for day to day stuff,I have put it all aside for the Scotland trip I hope to do with the girl.
Anyway, enough moaning, we have had a nice family weekend away and are all back safe and sound. Now to find a way to finance February 😱Debt free Feb 2021 🎉4 -

Mull sounds like it will be pretty. I feel you on how expensive life can be - with kids of whatever age - and then add neurodiversity into the mix - theirs and mine and it gets very interesting!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hubby's pay hit the account. All categories refilled bar what one of the kids owes me, must get that transferred.
Hire car was dropped off and car went to garage yesterday. Hubby is off work and I had booked the day off, so we both went to drop the car and then walked the 5miles home. Was actually quite nice, and mostly footpaths so not too muddy. We keep meaning to get out for more walks, but hubby has pins in one ankle so struggles on uneven ground and I tend to find walking around urban areas boring. Will attempt a walk on sat to offset the huge lunch out we have for a family members birthday on Sunday! Healthy eating is not going well, but at least all the birthday cake has gone.
Missing some work next week. The boy has a rescheduled hospital app and then the next day the girl has her uni interview at 9am!!! Still no plan on how to get her to that (train with her portfolio for 9am is a bit of an ask) and get the others to school. May have to ask mum to help out. But that's two days pay gone. Hope I can reschedule some of the jobs but will lose about 7hrs.
