  • Glad you had a good time.
Nice to be generous too. MSE isn't all about getting
It is nice to he able to give sometimes isn't it! The person I gifted the tickets to popped a picture up in the group as a thank you, the seats were not too bad for £13 each, will definitely keep thst in mind if I ever book at that theatre again.

My first date with OH was Blackpool Pleasure Beach, made him go on the mouse which he hated.  Sounds like you've had a good time.

We are planning this for the girls 18th. I went years ago with hubby before we were married, he took me on the grand national, honestly thought I was going to die 😂

  • Omg, my shoulder us been so painful. Not the one I dislocated, the other one, must have wrenched it on the horrible rollercoaster 😂 it's finally getting better, but Sunday/Monday were awful!

Child benefit came in, I finally stopped stalling and ordered the blinds for the front room. Asked hubbys opinion (he does have them sometimes!) He said what I had chosen were fine. I would have preferred curtains, but he wanted blinds, he would have been happy to keep the horrible brown aluminium ones that are up now 🙄 anyway ordered and should arrive next week. Have ordered from the company before and happy with the quality and price. They were on a flash sale so 20% off.

A theatre app I have has a flash sale for a show the wierd one might like. Waiting for hunny to get home (he went to the office today) will discuss dates and then possibly book it for him as part of his Xmas present.

Otherwise it is all the same as usual right now. Be to start looking at shopping for Xmas, I have the main gift for three out of four kids, but need to start looking for my neices too.

Sorry your shoulder has been painful. Not what you need at all. Hope it recovers quickly.

Flash sale on blinds sounds good -and the theatre. Do you know how I'd get cheap ballet tickets? I fancied going - but nearly fell over at the prices.

  • Depends on the show. I never book good seats, seatplan is a good site for looking at reviews and photos from the seat. I always book direct with the theatre, often booking far in advance helps, but the todaytix app is good for rush tickets (released for same day, limited to two) and flash sales on theatre shows.

Most I have paid for a theatre ticket is about £45, and I think that is expensive 😂 often the view from the gods is good, lion king £20 tickets give an amazing over view of the entire stage, and the balcony for Harry potter was reasonable for the cost. Certainly I don't see the stalls being worth over £200 more.

  • Ballet and opera seem to be more expensive in general though. Hubby likes opera, keep meaning to research booking one.

Thanks DAL - they seemed to start at around £130ish - and I might have needed to buy 2 tickets so just felt a bit out of reach. I'd struggle to do on the day tickets though as live quite far from London - I suppose the train is reasonably fast though - so may be a perception thing rather than reality... Need to save up...

It was obviously meant to be. I've booked two tickets for January. Very excited. Good to have something to look forward to and hopefully I can get myself some cheap train tickets. I will see if my London sis wants to go with me - I did suggest ballet to her a couple of weeks ago and she didn't run away screaming. Hopefully I can stay overnight at hers or with DS. At £15 a ticket I can appear generous too LOL by giving her a free ticket.
