If it's any consolation I once read this true saying,
Grandchildren are your reward for not strangling your teenagers!!!5 -
Sounds like you've been busier than usual!
Good to see house stuff is still moving forward, even if it is still slow

I also booked a tip appointment, unfortunately only available one was next Fri at 9am which will muck my day right up, but will try and cope, the appointment system is so frustrating tbh. I am not sure I will actually fit everything into the car, but can't go back for another week! And no bulk waste collections available for six weeks. A friend thinks she will take our trampoline (lots of the springs are gone so was going to replace it in spring anyway) as hers is broken too and she thinks she can make a decent one out of the two broken ones. So will need to try and dismantle it asap.
I also need to speak to dad re the money he is giving us for fees. So will try and cram a visit to them on sat afternoon.
I am probably panicking over nothing and there will be another two months before we move 😂Debt free Feb 2021 🎉4 -

Have had a client cancel on Thursday (major building works going on) so have shifted my client from Fri morning which eases up the timing for the top run.
Been a busy weekend. Packed up all the stuff from our huge built in wardrobe, bar our actual clothes. Six large box's 😱 I have so any pictures and photos in frames. Took a whole load down in the front room and the staircase too. Spent a few hours in the girls room, broke down a set of drawers that were broken, moved an old set back in, and hung up all her clothes. Packed up her books and nick backs too.
Then I braved the loft. I took 16 bags of clothes to the clothing bank 😱😱 and I still have two more bags in the loft to go through. It was embarrassing tbh. I pulled a couple of dresses and skirts out to sell, but everything else has gone. All the clothes I was hanging onto for when I lose weight.... accepted that even if I ever do drop a dress size, that my body has changed shape since hitting my 40's and they will most likely never fit again. I took two bags of books to the book bank, I still have about 40 more books to go. I have a few bits for the charity shop, will go and find out when they are accepting donations. Have two Halloween outfits so they should be ok to take them. But the loft is looking much lighter. Loads of empty box's for all the games consoles.
Have a list of stuff I need to take to the tip. It's supposed to rain heavily on Wednesday so don't want to shove it all out in the front garden yet.
Solicitor has been in touch. Have contracts and all the legal stuff for our purchase. I am pretty certain that the property is empty so am going to see if I can arrange a second viewing this week with the kids. Also need to check the electricity metre as the sellers said there is an issue (electricity ok) and may need replacing, but due to a two week wait we will need to do it when we move in. It should be free, but want to have a look at it. If our buyer is satisfied with our answers to their enquiries then they are good to go. We are waiting on two more enquiries from our vendors, need to get ink tomorrow morning to print out all the bits that need signing. Popping to a friend's for coffee tomorrow afternoon so she will witness our signatures and I will post first class Tuesday morning. May even be able to discuss dates later this week 😱
The girl has had two shifts at her job. She is exhausted. She is doing evening shifts this coming week, bit she has said she would prefer to just do sat and sun, rather than three shifts. And she wants to do the earlier shifts too. I need to pick her up at 10pm, so will be charging her for petrol. (Like 50p a journey it's not far!) I have also told her she can keep all of her first month's pay and after that she needs to be saving 50% of it. She earned approximately £80 this weekend, for a 16yr old this is loads.
Hoping to do a bit of time at my bookkeeping job tomorrow, will make myself available for a couple of hours anyway. Furlough ends at the end of October. If we have completed I will have a frank conversation with the bosses about keeping me on. I won't have them paying me for doing nothing when I can pick up cleaning easy enough and would only be about £100 down a month. Which I would get for having my neice after school.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉5 -
Well my elation at maybe being on the home stretch has come crashing down today. Message from EA to say that our buyer needs a survey for his mortgage valuation. Which he had two months ago?? It's booked for next Monday, but am now concerned as to why another is required. I suppose it could be a last minute swap to a better rate, but if it is a down valuation it would mean we would have to feed that on to our vendors as we are at our max as it is! My natural pessimistic view is to jump to the worst case scenario, waiting for EA to get back to me about it. She said it's the last thing required but I am not convinced. Valuation Monday, it will be wed/Thurs before it's back with the mortgage company, so end of next week before we can even begin to discuss dates it would seem.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉4

Have they said what type of survey its going to be as if its just a valuation one for mortgage I can't see you having any issues as it's just to make sure it's worth it's money but if they have requested a more in depth one then it's more to do with structure etc. Fingers crossed for you though that it all goes smoothly. Sounds like they have had issues with the mortgage or like you said switched to a better deal. But frustrating for you as its another delay.*Dad loan - £5300 - £7300
*Virgin Credit Card - £3552.50 - £0
*Natwest - £1828.35 -£400
Barclaycard - £2315.25 - £0.00
Creation Finance - £960.32 £860
*Total debt - £8560/£11641.17*

Weird. Can only think that they changed companies or that there offer had expired but most will give an extension on it.*Dad loan - £5300 - £7300
