Another email from solicitors re our purchase. Two enquiries answered to our satisfaction, just waiting on this bloody indemnity policy now.
Should hear about the buyers mortgage by the end of next week, and then hopefully we can begin to discuss dates! Quote form second company should come through later today.
BD no doubt it will be a huge huge rush at the end. I want to have another viewing before we exchange too, need to measure a space for a fridge freezer as we are leaving ours behind so will need one delivered the day after completion really. May ring the move manager later to just give them a heads up that removals are backed up.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉6 -
Quote from second removal company was £500 cheaper so will be going with them I think! Which does mean once dates are being discussed we know it will be at least 3/4 weeks. Still nothing from our buyers. Getting very twitchy now. Me and hubby are both sleeping poorly due to the not knowing. Trying to get in with life, but it's much more worrying now the delay is due to finance rather than just solicitors and endless enquiries. Must try to keep thinking positive!
On a plus side delays mean more time for saving. I have all the solicitors fees set aside and half of the removals. We actually have enough cash to pay all the fees without borrowing from my dad. I think we will probably do that, even if means we ride the credit card float for a few months. Maybe borrow 1k from dad. Still better than the 14k we were going to borrow!!! He said we could actually keep 7k (due to having helped my sister out last year) so will see what he says. But having the cash there means we can just transfer it to the solicitor instead of getting it from him and then transfering it on. All our deposit is coming from the equity (our buyers deposit will be passed on at exchange, already agreed) so at least that is sorted.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉5 -

Paid today. So all solicitors fees set aside (may be a few £ over tbh) and £400 set aside towards removals, should have the rest by end of October. So just 3k for EA fees. We have it in the bank but it would clear us out cash wise and would need to credit card float until after Xmas, not the end of the world, but I could borrow it from dad. I may ask for it after completing, and see where we are in Jan and perhaps just pay him a lump sum back. Need to talk to him really.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉5

Had a relatively quiet week in work this week. Two jobs cancelled due to ongoing building works, but overall I will be back to earning £500+ this month due to the way the days fall.
Our bank accounts are looking really healthy due to all the saving towards moving, but I desperately want to start shopping for Xmas but don't want to do it and then have to move presents!
Still no news on our buyers mortgage offer. Have decided to give up and resign ourselves to it all falling through. That way if it goes through I will have a nice surprise 😂 not convinced this is going to help my stress levels though! And the longer it takes the more money we have towards it.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉4 -
Hubby got paid today. He had £500 left over from last month so he now has 1.5k in his Monzo account (this is the first time he has EVER had savings!) If we move we want a nice big oled Tele for the new front room so have been pricing them up. So we have enough for one of those and any extra this month will go towards a new fridge freezer and beds.
I have £700 towards removals,so only another £250 left to find which we will have by the middle of November.
But still no news. Going to do some chasing next week and re-evaluate then.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉3 -

Still no news on buyers mortgage. Spoke to EA on Monday, she is chasing as much as she can, as is buyers mortgage broker, still really annoyed at the whole situation. I gather our vendor is very upset with the delay. Emailed solicitors to find out if there is anything left outstanding, nothing back as yet, just want to know that all conveyancing is done so we can get ready to exchange as soon as the mortgage offer is in. If they get it that is. It's apparently a complicated situation with the number of properties they own as a couple and as an individual. And with mortgage companies scaling back it's definitely getting much harder to get a mortgage. Just annoyed that this has so far delayed us a month. If it falls through I think we will give up and try again later next year maybe.
It's just frustrating as hubby needs a proper office set up and we haven't done it as waiting to move. Everything feels on hold tbh. I haven't started any Xmas stuff as waiting, there is no room for a tree in this house now we have the cats and I haven't bothered getting a new bed for one of the boys because we will be moving.
And talks of lockdowns are also making me twitchy, atm I am hoping it all goes quickly and we can get removals, but solicitors are totally snowed under and any lockdown will stop mortgages being issued again. And the stamp duty holiday end date is getting closer.
Just annoyed with it all tbh. Moving isn't the end of the world, but nothing has come onto the market anywhere near as perfect as this house we are trying to buy, which will always grate a bit I think.
Anyway, will keep plodding on and see what happens, something has to by Xmas or it will definitely all collapse.
My paye job is definitely shaky and I will need to make a proper decision in Jan I think, which will obviously affect any mortgage, another reason to just get this move over the line.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉3
