Glad you can manage financially. Getting supplies in for Easter is positive. Got DS to pick up some extras when he went to the shop for meds for me.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Awful nights sleep. Woke hot and nose all bunged up at 4am (allergies) had a small nap on the sofa this afternoon after a long walk with the girl.
Washing done and on the line, got to love some sunshine. Dd some cleaning, and planning on properly doing the kitchen tomorrow, shelves and everything! God I am bored. On my last library book too.....Debt free Feb 2021 🎉3 -
Oh, foo to the bad nights sleep, yay to the nap though, I love a nice nap
Oo deep clean of the kitchen, that's brave...….probably should it on my list to do...…..
Luckily I think I have enough books to see me through to the end of year, i'd be panicking otherwise.

Ah you suffer the same inflictions as me then, incapable of keeping it looking tidy for more than an hour.....when I have a good tidy I find within an hour I've manage to reclutter everywhere d'oh! At least you have the family to blame, I really can't say that its the moggies to blame
I go through books like that too, I have two bookshelves full plus around 30 loose upstairs...……..I do read most of them more once though (possibly more than 3 times)

I also love rereading books. Have read most of Terry Pratchets disc World multiple times.
So last night I drew up a schedule as have been really lacking focus and direction. Means an hours cleaning everyday, making the kids do some too, two hours spent on a 'project', today I did some weeding in the front garden, then after our exercise some time chilling in the afternoon. Today we watched toy story 4 as we have the disney+ app. The boy (14) cried 😂
It has helped I think. Breaking the day into sections. Obvs it will be different when I am working (not sure how much longer that will be mind) and when the easter hols are over and need to get the small two more focused on school work again.
Today the wierd one has not been coping. Keeps in asking when he is going back to school. The not knowing is affecting him badly I think. Quite a bit of attitude atm. The smallest seemed upset when he realised that he may go straight into the next year as, in his words 'I won't understand yr4 maths as I won't have finished learning Yr3maths', so we have an agreement that he will try and do some with me after the holidays.
Money wise, I have paid a third off he Council tax bill. Will make the monthly payments less forward and I had the money sitting in the ef which hasn't been needed so far. There is still £200 left and a further £300 going in when I get paid wages on the 15th, and £500 IF I get paid on the 20th. And tax credits are going up at the end of the month by £200, so can hopefully save that too.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉3 -
Good that you are managing. It's not an easy time. I'm dreading if I run out of porridge oats and milk - as I need routine too - and that's my breakfast and has been for years - other than the odd English breakfast. I've told DD you won't be back until Autumn at the earliest - but I accept even that's not a real answer. She is continuing to cope okay with home study - and in some ways it is easier than the constant pressure of school - but she misses her friends. DS (22) is grateful his exams are cancelled but feels rudderless. Like you I've encouraged some structure on them. I now set an alarm 4 times a day for my tablets - and meal times are around 3 of those.
Good that you still have money coming in and that tax credits are rising.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

The structure will really help, I know I am working from home but being consistent with my hours and how I approach the day has really helped me, start and finish the same time, lunch the same time, important things like coffee are roughly the same time
Maybe after the holidays you can give the kids a bit of a planned day, that could help?
Oo I haven't read any of Terry Pratchetts books......might keep an eye out and give them a go (well once charity shops are back open, I don't buy new anymore because 1) i'm now tight with my money and 2) i'd bankrupt myself if I bought new all the time)
Enjoy the project jobs while you can, once we are all back working properly the time will soon go and we will all be saying we haven't had the time to do big things
Well done with the council tax and planning the big top ups of the emergency fund, you've definitely got the money working well for you

Savingholmes, I get milk (and bead) delivered by the milk man, never been more pleased about that tbh. My mum is also a porridge eater, and had to buy some oats at the village shop and was moaning about the cost 😂
Bd80s Terry Pratchett is an acquired taste, and some are definitely better than others. I don't buy new books, mainly because I am lacking space, and only keep ones from certain series. I much prefer free ones from the library 😉 normally get 10 or so every fortnight, so this is going to be hard! I will buy on kindle, but never spend more than £2 unless it is a new one by an author I follow. And even then I will often hold out! Atm I have £20 sitting in my book category, need some for the kindle unlimited charge as will keep that during lock down, however long that is, but there are two new books out by authors I love, but £8 odd just seems a lot for a download copy!
Schedule went well again today. Some more gardening done. The handyman I have used in the past is advertising for outdoor work, tempted to get him to clean the fascias, gutters and conservatory if I get paid on the 20th. And dig a new bed in the front garden. It will all need doing at some point if we want to move, but will always struggle to prioritise stuff like that. It's all outside work, no need to enter the house, can invoice over email and pay via bank transfer. And I trust him to do a good job. Will have a think.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉3
