Oo exciting times house wise then
But also well done on the sensible thinking of being in the job longer and waiting to see if hubby gets a pay rise before looking, although the fun of browsing all the properties on the tinternet will keep you occupied no doubt
Plodding is good sometimes (well thats what I tell myself!), hope you get a good day on Saturday!

Lots of positives. Still important to make sure you don't over-borrow. Ear-mark a budget in your head for what additional spends moving will incur before, during and after. Eg 'must have' purchases and temptations.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Oh I agree re over committing. Won't be looking until a budget is decide on. And will be overpaying any mortgage in the future as not having one until we are over 65. And any house move now won't be forever, 15-20years max then downsize/relocate. But still a nice shock! Hubby put application in this week, assuming there will be interviews in the next month, and his boss was very keen for him to apply. But it is open externally too so we shall see.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉3

So with everything going on atm, house move will be a little delayed. Going to spend the next couple of months decluttering and sorting stuff out, but it may be that I can't work or a bit. Self employed job is OK atm, but because I m in and out of people's houses it will depend on lots of things. And most worryingly my newer job is in one of the sectors tat has been hugely impacted. Hopefully they can keep me on, this months pay is fine, but going forward I may need to take unpaid leave until everything is more back to normal.
The girl has just completed her mocks and is understandably quite concerned about gcse's in May. I haven't booked our scotland trip yet, and it may end up being postponed tbh, it's planned for beginning of July, but if the exams are delayed it would clash. Overall a bit of a worrying time, but husbands job seems good, he is in a sector doing very well atm!
Off to Alton towers tomorrow
It hasn't been cancelled yet, will check again in the morning, but if its going ahead so are we.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉3 -

Alton towers was a blast! Did the journey both wys in less than three hours, (should have been nearer 4) amazing what no football traffic can do.
Little two were left behind with mum (no one showing any symptoms) so just the big two. Which meant all the rides 😂 although myself and the boy bowed out of the smiler. The boy was very nervous, and also didn't brave nemesis but was fine on the rest. None of did oblivion though 😂
Because it was a private event, queue times were 10mins max, except for my favourite Rita 😔 they were only running one car and were wiping it over every 6 goes or so, so that one had a 40min wait. So we only did it once. But the teens faces on th pictures for it, priceless 😂 they were not expecting the speed! The girl has the roller-coaster bug now, so will try and get to the Thorpe Park event hubby's work runs later in the year. We are happy to give most a go, but finding the recovery time after each ride a little longer now we are mid forties! Was a fab day, loads of hand gel all over the park, after each ride etc. Everyone being sensible.
Hubby has been asked to work from home as much as possible next week. Me and the girl are supposed to be in London tomorrow night, it's her birthday next week and this is her present. Booked in Oct. As long as the west end is open and we are symptom free we will go. She is still concerned re gcse's, and if the schools shut no idea how we will cope. Six of us under one roof.
Anyway enough doom and gloom. Off to swimming, still open as of last night.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉2 -

So trip to the west end wasn't to be. We arrived, collected tickets, went for dinner, 45mins before show time the entire west end closed 😔 luckily it was one we had seen before, but such a disappointment. So back home by 8.30.

And now I have an emotional 16yr old distraught at the news that she won't be sitting exams this summer.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉2

Bless. I wish they had cancelled them last year - DD would have been better off health wise. Some kids value structure - and certainty and there doesn't seem any of that currently anywhere in the world.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
