Putting a cat flap in is a bit awkward as we have both a porch and a conservatory and the side of the house is direct to an alleyway. And if they went missing it would break the smallest heart. I have resisted for years, but tbh I think it would be helpful for the younger two. I would happily adopt an older cat, but husband wont. He is such an easy going bloke 90% of the time, but on certain subjects he has really strong feelings and opinions!

Anyway it isn't set on stone, but the fact he is willing to talk about how it should be funded is suggesting that it will be happening.

Maybe I will get a dog and a horse one day!

    Charity ball sounds fun.

Sympathise about the cats - we started with a cat and progressed to a dog after about 7 years ;)

  • I honestly saw myself having a dog. Unfortunately my husbands fear is a true phobia, he didn't touch a dog for 20yrs, and then it was my grannies elderly terrier. If we go to my aunts there dogs have to be shut away, he will cross the sreetto avid a dog even on the lead. If we got a dog it would havr to be from a puppy and he wouldn't be able to walk it where other dogs are. So it really won't happen. The bite he received was pretty bad, and I can't force it. Marriage is all about compromise right?

Ah yeah, cat flap would not be ideal for you then :rotfl:

Absolutely nothing wrong with getting the pets you want/work for your family - I've never gone out to get my cats, they just decided to live wih me ...........randomly only ever black or black and white ones :rotfl:

I'm sure if/when you get them you'll fall in love with them and they'll make a great addition.

Hope you have a great weekend ;)

So tax credits updated with new job details, apparently me earning an extra £500 means we lose 7k   I tend to overestimate my self employment income and my tax return at the end of April so it will even out in next year's payment, just leaves us short for the next three months.

So tweaked the budget and we shall be OK, but less being saved.

Quiet weekend. Walked to town with the girl on Saturday, and not a lot happened today.

Next weekend I am off to London to see Harry Potter. Been waiting years  so excited, cheap seats in the gods, going with my sister and neice as I got the tickets for her xmas present as she is a fan. The girl is also going, she was a huge fan for years but at 15 has grown out it a bit.

Oh no, that's a nuisance with the tax credits!

At least it isn't leaving you short for priority things and fingers crossed it will right it's self in April.

Jealous of the HP tickets - have a fab time. I want to go too - but you seem to have to apply to some sort of ticket lottery to have a chance of getting them or is there an easier way?

  • SH I just booked on the website. I did book back in July for feb, but not on release day. There are normally tickets available, but depends on pricing and you can't chose seats they are allocated. I discarded one weekend as when I went onto the seatplan website (people leave reviews of seats) they looked awful. These look OK. £20 per part on the balcony, but apparently although high up, and steep the view is good.

Just had a blazing row with the boy, and now have a banging headache.

On Saturday I went to town with the girl and spent a whole £17 on an outfit for her to wear to her prom  she looked stunning and while we are going o try some prom dresses on this week, I hope she sticks with it. I also said I would be happy to pay more for shoes. She wanted to wear converse, but this outfit needs heels. Me and her dad mock her clothing choices a lot (she takes it in good faith) but I am actually super proud of how individual she is.
