Hi
Managed to make it over to your diary for a read (confession time ....at one point I'm not sure if I accidently clicked report on a post as I was scrolling ...........hope I didn't, huge sorry if I did!).
You've had some proper ups and downs but your tenacity is brilliant, you really should be proud of yourself. All the work you've done to the house and continually been paying off everything whether it's minimum payment or more plus all the trips out and the holiday, not many people on the journey can manage all that!
As I'm late to your party I'm going to say congratualtions on your new job now, hopefully you'll settle in fine and get to grips with everything, I'm sure you will.
Looking forward to reading your adventures going forward, definately not many dull moments for you haha!1 -
Many thanks for stopping by! And all the kind words, well done if you have managed to read the entire thing though :eek:Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1

I did indeed manage the whole diary:rotfl:(what can I say, I'm a huge reader!)
In all seriousness I always tried to read through any diary I subscribe to as quick as I can, I never know what hints, tips or links to my own situation I'm going to find which all help.
p.s I'm a huge drag race fan like your daughter so have a feeling I know which queen was in Everyones Talking About Jamie so I'm a little jealous you got to go1 -

Thank you both for dropping by.
Bd80s, it was Bianca del rio who is in Jamie. She is back in until sometime in Feb now, but I won't pay to go again, much to the girls disgust :rotfl:
Clarissa hope you are doing OK, did you have a new job? (have got a bit behind with my diaries so apologies if it is someone else I am thinking of!)
Back to my new job yesterday, feel like I am beginning get to grips with it and finding my way around the invoicing system better now.
I did enjoy my cleaning jobs last week, nice to see people, but my body did not appreciate it  feeling my age atm.
I have my exam tomorrow eve, after the girls yr11 parents evening, have two hours free so will go to town to do some revision. I did a mock paper in the library on sat, got 98%, I kept taking the vat away instead of adding it on  not a great mistake to make :rotfl:
Today I got some tickets to alton towers. Its a cooperate day with hubby's work, and off season, £15 a ticket, quite excited. Hopefully all the big rides will be open, the girl is desperate to go on them all!
Annoyingly the porch is leaking (awful weather here) last time was in 2013 when the town flooded and the plasterboard came down. Has been like that until October when I finally paid for a new ceiling (had not leaked once since 2013 and we got the flashing packed back then) and now it is leaking. Feeling rather annoyed tbh. Am going to get the handyman back to replace the flashing I think.
Boiler is making a funny noise again, but tbh I am ignoring that atm, it seems to have been playing up for two years on and off, and we owe the plumber for the work before Xmas (he hasn't invoiced us or told us how much, so not able to actually pay him yet!) so am going to wait for that.
Am struggling a bit with time atm, looking forward to the six week break after my exam until the next course starts.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
I know why the porch is leaking. It's because I cleared out the ef and buffer and paid the sofa finance off :rotfl: I have a plan to replace them both in the next six months though.
So two debts left. The loan which is at around 6k and cc which is 0% and at 1k. I have a s/o for £120 a month to the cc and am hoping to put an extra £100 on top of that for it to be gone by Easter.
Had been looking at a holiday in August, but I can only take the last two weeks off in the new job the girl her gcse results one week and college enrollment the second. So may look at four days in Paris earlier in august, hubby seemed keen to go again, and as I only work two days in that job it's less of an issue, can take a week at home towards the end.
I have booked the time off for guide camp and have spoken to my friend in Scotland and have a week booked off at the end of June for that. Need to get hubby to book time off and his boss is off sick atm, so waiting for that.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -
Hey
Good to hear its all going reasonably well for you, minus the boiler and porch! If it's any consolation I am nursing my boiler through this winter with a mix of gently knocking it to align the wires back and giving it a good bang when its misbehaving and doesn't want to co-operate..........works fine for a week then:rotfl:
I thought it would have been Bianca, definately lucky you! Next year when I've got rid of all the loans (hopefully) I'll be able to make some rounds to see some shows..........
Hope the new job keeps being good and you pass the pesky exam:)
p.s dont forget to fit time in to walk.......1 -
Yes, Bianca was great. Unfortunately me and the girl are awful at stage door (we tried once) so no meeting with her! If at any point you are able to fit in any London shows let me know. I am a member on FB of a fab group who are amazing at finding deals and are a wealth of information and experience. I am seeing five shows before the middle of march, most expensive was the one in a non London theatre!!! Paid £20 or less for all of the others.
Well today I did some revision this morning, popped to a few shops and spent most of the clothing budget for the month, but this included some school uniform.
Two cleaning jobs, then year 11 parents eve for the girl, loads of time to get to my exam, but the town was in complete gridlock, it was ridiculous, and once I parked I realised I had forgotten my pass :mad:it was a new term so loads of people registering at reception, I had to be rude and shout over the line as I had three mins to get to my exam. Thank god I had photo id so I could actually sit the exam  anyway find out in March, but I have passed, hoping for a distinction, might have got 100% (it's a really easy exam.)
Had a heater out in the porch all day and it has dried out OK. Will see what it is like tomorrow as expecting awful rain again.
Tomorrow have a full day of cleaning jobs, then guides in the evening. Shouldn't need to spend any money though.
Got paid today, all doled out in ynab, and even enough left over to fund a meal out for my birthday next week :beer:Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1 -

Hello spent most of yesterday reading your diary. You're really good at budgeting and I take my hat off to you.
