  • Toni’s friend I need to start thinking about goals too.

*rant alert* One may involve magic - finding the money to pay for a holiday to replace the one it looks like I won’t be able to go on, and won’t get a refund on. Apparently Canada considers you undesirable for 5 years after a DUI and I didn’t think about it before booking. Cue desperate scrabble to try and get through a visa application rather than just an electronic sign off. I’m furious at myself:mad: and rather tearful as we were so looking forward to it.

One smile - DH has just licked the spoon. After putting Colmans on his plate for his pork pie. He’s doing a good impression of Harry Potter as a steam train:rotfl:

Going YS hunting shortly. As I didn’t do Christmas I have an empty fridge. And space in the freezer. A dangerous combination.:D. But I saved up my pennies and have a nice budget. And a £6 off £400 voucher.

Then off to a ‘Fireside meeting’. As I haven’t been to AA for weeks its come at just the right time. Apart from anything else - I have Christmas cards to hand over.

Tomorrow - goals, CV tart up (I’m unemployed again) and house hunting - Truro here we come.

    Gratitudes:

    1) DH is NOT blaming the holiday debacle on me.
    2) I came in under budget on nearly everything this year - I love YNAB
    3) It’s snowing
    Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18
    Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o
  • FBO - I hope you get everything sorted. I didn't realize that either although a friend had a similar problem when applying for a visa for the States. A visit to the US embassy/consulate sorted it though so don't give up yet.
Just had a look at my monthly outgoings to see if I could save money. When are things going to stop going up in price. I will have to look at changing energy suppliers. The cost for next year is horrific. Also have to stop impulse buying YS food. In fact stop buying it at all until what we have is used up. Problem is as you get older your appetite decreases but you tend to keep buying the same amount.
Well, that's two goals to be starting with.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Fbo fingers crossed you can get it sorted.

Today should be SFD number 13 :) I have listed more items on eBay and one sold immediately so I’ve packaged that up to post tomorrow. I’ve had a good tidy up and ate up some more leftovers. Tonight is back to SW, I’ve told myself that I’m going to go until my holiday in March and if I’m not at target by then, I’m going to stop going. If I get to target and stay there then it becomes free to attend :)

I’ve also decide which Christmas gifts to regift and will be giving them to friends for birthday presents in January :)

I’m £47 short for paying off my credit card in full this month so I either need to make more on eBay over the next two weeks or cancel some plans in January.

    Today was NSD 11
Have not left the house, have been painting and filling holes and sanding stuff.
A lot of the same planned for tomorrow. The house will look much better by this time tomorrow evening. I promise!

Food still in the fridge and plenty in the pantry. I deliberately did not buy too much in, except very nice ice cream which the kids have scoffed.

Nearly ready to move back in to my bedroom, once the smell of paint goes enough for DH not to complain (endlessly!) about it. Hopefully by tomorrow night.......

Todwy I am grateful for lovely train workers, for delay repay easing the travel pain (only 85 mins late on a 172 min journey...), for getting seats on every train (window and forward facing, no less), for now being safely ensconsed at big sis', for sitting next to a warm log burner, for easy chats with big sis and bil, for crunchy snow on the ground.

    Day 27
Hugs for those in need of them.
Was a spend day. Brought coffee for my sister and niece. Tea for me.
Still need to put spends from the last few days into the notebook.
    Grateful for:
    Sister driving me back home.
My time spent with my family over Christmas.
    Having a chilled out evening.
Catch up of programmes I recorded whilst away.

  • Spendy day, DD1 hit the sales, and as planned so not breaking any goals :D) I picked up next years xmas cards (I seem to be of a dying breed who sends them.) New tree, there's not much plastic left on this one, and it cost me the same as the extra tinsel it would need. Got some baubles too, also snagged presents for step family from DD1 for next year.

We spent considerably less on food this year and still had too much, so will adjust again to suit.

Gratitudes: Knowing I can have a "day off" tomorrow. Kids did look at me funny when I declared this though.
Knowing my sister is ok. I don't hear from her much, she has issues with social situations.
Swimming - fun with the girls to burn off turkey/chocolate/alcohol.
Finding a hidden box & unraided of choc biccies to watch tv with. SUCH a guilty pleasure.

Lapsed on my Evaluate task, earlier, but now can look back and see that I've made progress as a person, by taking on my fear of Maths. Also by joining this FAB group of NST's - it's only been a couple of months but I am already seeing benefits in my organisation, and approach. Writing side of things didn't go the way it had been promised, but that's ok. I'm hugely proud of my two girls who have grown both in height and emotional development this year. DH keeps the roof over our heads, and with it a huge weight, but the business grows.

Where do we go from here? I'm still not sure.

  • Merry Christmas everyone! Sorry I've been MIA, between work and illness ans Christmas it's been a tiring couple of weeks.

I think I was on 3 NSDs beforehand, just done another 3 so on 6 so far. To be honest it's better than I've managed previously so I'm not too upset about it.

Looking forward to Jan, were doing it dry and super frugal. DH will be between jobs for a couple weeks so may miss a payday if the payday date changes between companies. The new job is going to be a thousand times better though (comes with 3 months training to get accredited) so will be worth it for a potentially !!!! poor month.

Looking forward to the Jan challenge :)

Came home about 2.30pm, have had a bath and finally finished reading the book I took with me. Have put the bin out but I am ignoring the washing up and general mess in the kitchen. Eating 'leftovers' - rice salad and smoked mackerel and was given some spring rolls they got with their takeaway. Still not enough room to put tree up in my room or the kitchen - I was so nearly there but that space has been filled with the oven trays and pans they have used whilst the plates are somewhat perilously perched on top of oher things on the kitchen table.

Had a lovely time with mum, put together a hassle free roast dinner and buffet tea for both Christmas Day and Boxing Day, enough for a feast (we both hed to postpone dessert for a couple of hours) but not so much that food was wasted). I cooked baked potatoes and butternut squash yesterday and there is still lots of cheese and cooked meat, salad bits and the turkey stew I took with me. I have done lots of sewing, some reading and we watched some tv - mum let me watch both Dr Who and the programme about inside the lego factory - she was telling my neice that I was obsessed with both on Christmas Eve. We watched 'A hard Day's Night' (cue more anecdotes of me sitting on the swing in the back yard, using mum's old tennis racket as a guitar - it also did duty as a vaccuum cleaner and a horse), Paddington and 'Miracle on 34th Street' but I was kind enough not to make her watch the old version as well (I love both of them).

My neice and DS2 were our only visitors although there were people 'who might pop round'. The babies had all been for another visit and had enjoyed the game mum had made with plastic cups and the stickers I had given her. They also left behind the cold which I had diagnosed the previous week. We have a volunteer to take us to a long distance appointment next Tuesday but more house jobs have come back on my list as mum's cousin has had a minor stroke and has also fallen and broken two ribs.

    THree more NSDs including today.

I am grateful for good food and plenty of it, good company, for hearing from DS1 (via bookface posting about Christmas and thanking everyone who helped them settle in their new home), for being able to stay in my room and no-one thinking it's strange - I was expecting to sleep but have only had a doze but feeling mellow and relaxed and no desire to go charging around.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
