Today Iam grateful for a quiet day, for a friend + her dd dropping by to swap presents and stay for a drink/play, for dd's Monopoly skills improving, for getting my bunny slope 13 done, for dh saving the juices from the ham cooking so I could use it for soup, for church tomorrow meaning that we will get properly out and about, for neighbours trusting us with their keys (thinking of you here, f0xh0les!), for having all you turtles here as a support , for needing nothing.

NSDs 9 - achieved one today. We were out over lunchtime and Husband was looking for a Gregg5 or similar but I persuaded him to wait - and phoned DD who got some stuff ready for us that we had straight as we got in (growling stomachs by then!) ETA - back to 8 - hubby popped out last night.....
Lunches taken/ prepped at home - yep - as above. Did 'buy' whilst we were out - but picked up a couple of freebies and used a voucher (reward one) for another thing

    Hi all,

Today is NSD #12. I won't spend tomorrow so that makes 13.

My MIL gave me some cash yday for Xmas which I saved, really happy Ive managed to save so much. However hub wants to take the kids to Paris next year and I have something coming up which might well mean I need to use my savings so the more money I can save the better:)

Lots of Christmas prep today :D so this might well be my last post pre Xmas so I'd like to wish you all an amazing Christmas xxxx
  • Christmas Eve. I love it. So full of anticipation and excited wee ones.
The boy and I are visiting my sister in law with gifts for her and her family. She's not been very well (lingering chest infection) and, as this her first Christmas without my brother, I think it will be a difficult time for her. She has a lovely family and I'm sure they'll see her through it.
Other than that I'm doing absolutely nothing and looking forward to it.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
  • Happy Christmas to all my fellow turtles.

I'm still bumbling along keeping most of my budgets in line. NSD's are 12.

One of my molar teeth has disintegrated so that will probably mean a large bill in January. Haven't got any pain because it is mostly filling!

Have bought two diaries for next year. Why? you may ask. Well in order to keep track of all things appointment and budget wise, one is week to a page spread and the other is page a day. I've divided page a day into columns and squares to represent meal planning, extra shopping for meal plan, what the cash I take out has bought and forward planning. Page spread for a week has my must do this week, and also this month, appointments, birthdays, and a column for expenses.

I hope this will help keep mee on track in 2018. More later.
    NSD 1/3,
My mantra is After I ....I will. eg After I make my morning coffee, I will take my medication. Eventually this will become a habit,

    Still on NSD8

Last minute remembered nice things from the Son of Morris' shop - so the kids can have flavoured hot milk and mice pies between meals. They suddenly seem permanently ravenous. I predict a growing spurt. It has been a while since they seemed to grow 4 inches each overnight. At least the post christmas sales will be on.

    Happy Christmas Eve to all!

I love this challenge, it has helped keep me sane when no-one else understands.
This madly consumerist throwaway trend has to stop sometime surely?

  • It's been manic so I haven't had a moment to update. We've made pies for Santa, fudge for Grandad, and Peppermint Cremes for Grandma.
I'm ignoring the mountain of potatoes I need to peel for a bit ;) I hope you are all having a cosy day.
DDs are so excited, youngest wants to hit the Crib Service at the local church in a bit.

Two more NSD achieved, tempted though I am I think this is the first Eve I haven't hit the shops. I'll update the signature in a bit, DD1 wants to hit the sales but I don't plan on spending my money other than that which I've already set aside.

    All the best to you
