  • I want to give money but I don't have an income. Most of my family work or have worked for homeless charities in the south so maybe I can look into volunteering options.
Sometimes giving time is even more important than giving money.

As an ex-trustee and treasurer for a charity supporting families in crisis I will definitely second that - the charity I was with struggled for volunteers with a growing list of referrals made to it and a growing list of items (and money) donated to it. However, there just wasn't (still isn't really) enough people to do the job WELL. The job gets done, but not as well as it could and opportunities to expand/ fundraise are missed due to not enough people. That doesn't make for a sustainable future, sadly.

I am making some broc + potato soup for when the anaesthetic wears off and I stop dribbling...

Caffeine flushes the anaesthetic out - if you want it gone qucker. Just don't burn yourself if you dont have any cola.

Chamomile tea also brings down swelling, stops infection and aids healing in the mouth. Tastes yuk though. I usually steep a few teabags in a pint glass and neck it. The stuff is amazing.

Thank you. I let the soup cool right down and tore up a slice of bread in to it as it was rather runny. The realised that sucking the soup ain't good! So went back to half tea-spoonfuls and squishing it with my tongue before swallowing

    Will get some chamomile tomorrow.

    Day 21
Was a spend day. Signature and notebook updated.
Dealt with a small bit of decluttering and housework myself.
My brother, sister-in-law and nephews came down to help with a few bits around the flat and preparing food for tomorrow for after Mummy's funeral tomorrow.
Sorted out the cards to go with the flowers for funeral from me, brother and sister their other halves and children.
    Grateful:
My brother, wife and nephews helping me out.
For brother and wife sorting out in memory card for Mummy to be given out to family and a few other people.
    Went for a walk today.
    Having a chilled out evening.

Last two days have been NSDs taking me up to 11/15 :D. Had planned to do the Christmas food shop but finished work late and then couldn't be bothered :o

Today I'm grateful for a really good appraisal at work, yummy egg fried rice for tea, having a slighter better stomach day and chocolate.

Kerry Woman - I hope it all goes off well today. It has been very quick, we waited 5 weeks for my dad's funeral last year.

I did my Christmas grocery shop last night, it was all the additional bits rather than actual food. We saved our clubcard vouchers and nectar points all year for this purpose and only spent 10p.

I got a lovely gift of two bottles of wine and a box of chocolates from work (they know me so well), I am now stashing wine down the side of the sideboard where the Baileys is hiding.

The kids finally finish school at lunchtime today so we are off for a wander in our little town on the way home. Before that I need to walk the dog, wash all the bedding (already stripped before school run) have my lunch super early and vacuum. No paid work today, I am finished now for Christmas.
