F0xh0les - love your powers of deduction!

When you only make something once a year, sometimes it takes a while to figure out why it is so hit and miss. I just put it down to them being fickle and contrary. Turns out it was my tidying up DHs bottles.:o

  • Hi all-

Today is NSD #10. I need to be on 12 by end of the week ideally.

Had a good clear out yday so I defo came close to my 31 items :)

Went to a cristingle for my explore. Really enjoyed it. My eldest was the only child thst rejected the sweets and ate the orange haha

House is clean & cupboards full for xmas. Might need to go again for milk but hoping not.

Im having an MSE dilema, I try not tp use my drier but my clothes are so much softer when I use my drier, any advice for hanging clothes to try but keeping them soft?

Did my budgets last night for the month & I have put aside 1k in my emergency fund plus the money for tickets for something the boys want to do next year. Over the moon to have got there :) at the beginning of the year I aimed to save 3k and Ive saved 6 in total :) I am going to aim for 6 in 2018 as clearly its do able. Big thanks to this thread who taught me the money wasted on needless spends, coffees out etc.

    Will do gratitudes later xx
  • Thank you all for the birthday wishes. When you get to my age you tend not to celebrate!!
Yesterday was another NSD. Isn't it amazing how much you can achieve when left to your own devices. Got loads done yesterday. Think most of the problem is twp people who do not put things back where they belong and me saying I'll do something later rather than doing it when I see it needs doing.
Got some shopping to do and the donations to take to the church for the food bank and homeless mission. Better finish my coffee and get on.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
  • florence J I have this issue, I feel guilty spending money I can get a bit obsessive & go without things I need. Even if you don't need them consider that most people get new clothes monthly & consider it a necessity. I am someone who always preps for a raining day. I think it sounds like you deserved to treat youself:)

Thank you, greent. The tooth came out in one piece, which was a relief. Now to keep up on the painkillers... I am making some broc + potato soup for when the anaesthetic wears off and I stop dribbling...

And I claim an NSD as the dentist was definitely a medical need. The other money spent was using our 'found' money fund to buy dd a magazine for cmas.

Thank you LaurenH, the thing is because I am in debt, and because I now owe my OH money due to him supplimenting my living costs I feel a bit guilty and I sort of asked his permission and he said it was fine as long as it was something that wasn't going to be worn once a year and would have a good cost to wear ratio. The dress had a tie waist and is designed to look quite loose so I thought it would be good for my ever changing weight situation (up and down).

    Debt destruction:
No additional payments were made this month but all bills have now been paid.

Exterminate I've actually been going on Facebook more, but I go on it so little that even now it hasn't been an extreme use, and I've been using it to talk and be a bit more open, which I think is good. I generally clear everything on my to do list each day so that is going well.

Clear up, clean up and take control. Haven't done any clearing out, but am keeping the house tidy and making great strides with the washing pile. I don't know how 2 people can produce so much washing each week!

Explore Haven't left the house today but have been walking instead of getting the bus.

Mental health. Been having more baths because baths feel decadent to me and I don't usually 'allow' myself one.

Budget Been recording all my spending since April 2015, and have been going through my spreadsheets for this year to work out my spending so that I can work out my budgets for next year, and for the 2018 Frugal challenge.

Evaluate This year didn't go as expected. It was tough at first, then there was my breakdown, then I survived and came back stronger. Also in the last week I saw my favourite band and my football team beat Manchester United in the caraboa cup which led to me listening to the wurzels until 1.30am (I support Bristol City, apologies to Man U fans) which has led me to believe that dreams most certainly can come true!

Remember I'm really struggling with this as homelessness is on the rise and I didn't have to hear that on the news this week, I have already seen it for myself in Cardiff over the last 6 months. Channel 4 news did a report on a homeless woman who passed away this winter on the streets of Cardiff. I feel a bit powerless. I want to give money but I don't have an income. Most of my family work or have worked for homeless charities in the south so maybe I can look into volunteering options.
