Not a SFD today as had a drink in the pub after work, which I/we never do, so it was nice. Came home, walked the dogs and delivered the last card.

I'm going to use my sonic screwdriver to make money. Probably the wrong time to be listing on eBay (anyone know?) but I'm going to try whilst I'm off.

Dr Who's sonic screwdriver always comes to his rescue, does what is needed and helps put everything right. It never fails.

    So identify your sonic screwdriver!

A book to take me away from it all is my TARDIS and a mug of hot chocolate is my sonic screwdriver.

Also, the ability to not take it personally. No matter what it is, the person who is being mean is usually deflecting. That is why they apologise.;)

Well, most people will have been paid early, and have a few days off, so will be looking for a bargain with money in their pockets.

    Budgets - food £103.06/£200, petrol £82.50/£100, social £57/£100.

Me and OH have decided to spend the rest of the social budget going for a meal and to see the new star wars film between Christmas and New Year.

Today I'm grateful for an understanding doctor, seeing my gran, spending quality time with OH and feeling organised for going back to work tomorrow.

No doubt. I do try not to rant or lecture people. I am fairly quiet generally. I got on well with my hairdresser who is now a Conservative MP (he had just been selected for a seat the night before he last cut my hair in April 2008

I think we should agree to disagree, I hate causing conflict. I admire a lot of what you do and I hope you feel the same about me. Big hugs.

Don't think I have spent any money today. Only had 4 hours sleep so took my time getting ready. Took a book back to the library and collected more - thay are shut from Saturday so need to stock up. Did a little shopping for mum, added to the pile in the hall.

Took it all to her, unpacked whilst eating a sandwich, rejigged the toilet roll and kitchen roll storage and put more tins from the store into the kitchen cabinets.

Mum wanted to plant the bulbs I bought her, so collected compost from the shed, put the big planter in it's designated place. Mum was trying to think what I could use as a dibber but I said I would fill the container until it was at the right level, set out the bulbs and then add more compost until they were at the correct depth. Went out to sweep stones back onto the front garden (think a dog had scattered them all over the pavement).

Watched a film and we both dozed. I had intended to walk to Morries to complete the food shopping but decided to leave it. Have discussed when we are going to the cemetery - mum phoned her cousin to see if she is going and would take us too (answer machine).

Today I am grateful for my bed, for a chance to rest tomorrow, for my new medicines working (very glad as one of them is disgusting), for finding books easily and for a surprise parcel arriving.

  • Yay! I survived the carnage that was DD1's birthday (weekend) I have no idea why I got myself so stressed out, perhaps the level of hope and expectation?
DD2 had a bit of a melt down (present envy, and she's so tired!) about not being able to keep up with the 'it' girls. Or in her words "They know what's sexy, and they won't let me play if I'm not sexy. So I play with the boys, but they are too rough."

:( Didn't know they had to be sexy at 7 - the world is seriously messed up.

Achieved another NSD, but overspent, so putting that right out of this week's money.

    Hi all :)
    Today is NSD # 9

Yday I did my big shop :) so now I am all set for xmas except for a few final things. It was nice buying posh brands and anything that took our fancy, a real rare treat.

Today I am doing my big xmas clean. Spent last night finishing my wrapping & I finally feel like Im getting somewhere near organised.

Might do budgets later if I have time.

Been a nightmare week. Snowed in for days so had to catch up with work and Christmas prep for OH to wreck his back and end up in a&e last night as the pain was so bad. Budgets etc have been put on hold for the time being and not sure what he will be able to do over Christmas.

Grateful for the strong painkillers that have finally stopped the screaming, family help when needed even if during the night, understanding boss and getting a nap earlier! Will wait and see what tomorrow brings!

Oh no - I do hope he is on the mend soon.

We had a lot of problems with DD when she was in primary school, there were only 6 girls in her class and there were constant problems with her being left out, DD is very, very clever and the other girls didn't like this even though she wasn't the type that bragged about it, in the end I think it made DD quite tough which I don't particularly like. She is at grammar school now and has no problems at all, I think if she had gone to a regular secondary school it would have carried on.

My grocery shop is being delivered today, I normally go to the store but I used one of the £1 delivery slots so not too bad.

Our gas supply died yesterday, there is a leak somewhere on the pipe (could be 1/2 a mile away), only our gas went off as we are the last house on that pipe. Three teams of people came (none of them can do a complete job), finally got it back on a 9pm and today they are coming to drill holes to find the leak - great.

This morning the electric was browning out (is that the right term), hope that doesn't go today.

I don't plan on spending any other money today, I am working, dog walking, tidying up and running.

  • Unexpected NSD. That's three now. Wow!
Ironed up as much as I can and more drying. Will get that done later and am just about to put on more washing. C is out today with his friends so I'm hoping I'll get things a bit more organised. At the moment I feel as if I'm just moving everything from one place to another. Kitchen and bathroom need a really good clean - the boy does not understand the concept of cleaning when his mother is away.
Busy day then so one final cup of coffee and off I go.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
