  • Day 9 #19 checking in...
Debt Plan - NSD still 3/15 Yesterday we were snowed in and should have been NSD however I went and ordered a m00npig card!!
Exterminate - No FB for longer than 1/2 hr. Regeneration - Going for extra fruit/veg a day.
Clear up - Christmas decs up & a few didn't make it. I'm also going to have a 1 in 1 out rule for next year... Basically if I buy something new, something old has to go.
Explore - Nothing here again. I haven't done well with this one so far.
Mental Health - I do feel I have a lot on my plate at the moment and I'm making mistakes, nearly went to wrong school Christmas concert, bought my husband a birthday card instead of a Christmas one & a bag of Christmas presents fell off the worktop and damaged because I didn't put them on properly. These things have really upset me which in the grand scheme of things is silly. Will be paying more attention to this when life calms down in January.... I'm also feeling like I'm going through the motions to get things done rather than enjoy them. Maybe mindfulness would be a good place to start.
    Budget - *sighs*
    Evaluate - Plans made
Remember - Hmmm nothing charitable last 2 days.

Grateful for - the simple pleasure taken from Christmas decorations and the excitement of our 5 year old DS.
    Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033.  Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £175/£260
  • Afternoon all.

Today was spendy, needed some wall filler to sort the giant hole DH made while stripping wallpaper for the plasterer coming on Tuesday. Only bought what I needed though, not a penny more spent.
Got some paper left to get off and not much time to do it around work.
Did some of it while DD napped today but stopped after a while as it was a bit too noisy next to her room.

Wrapped some Xmas pressies today too. Realised I've lost a gift. Can't for the life of me find it. I bet I find it after I buy something else.

Is it acceptable to just buy my dad a big case of his favourite cider for Xmas? He doesn't have 'stuff' and his only hobbies are going abroad and drinking cider! :D

DH working late tonight so I'm having a freezer tea and going to get some cleaning done. Will watch strictly when he gets in.

Grateful today for wilkos opening at 8.30am so I could get in and out of the car park without a thousand other shoppers in the way. Guinea pigs enjoyed the truffles I made so they're now in the edible gifts category which will solve a few small presents this year. Snapfish order arrived. My last gratitude will come in an hour or two (sorry tmi!) when I finally manage to get this poop out of DD, poor mite struggles :(

Have slept for most of today. Sorted through 5 bin bags Beloved had collected (their rubbish from the front room). About 3 bags worth was pizza boxes. Put the crusts into a small green bag (green bin - it gets composted with the green waste), put small boxes inside large ones, took off all the advertising flyers (blue paper bin), stood on the pile of boxes to crush them down to a 4" pile, a few cans and bottles to be rinsed (brown recycling bin) and the remainder squashed into 1 bin bag about the size of a carrier bag (black bin). Put the brick on top so it will squoosh a bit more, so I can get another big bag in.

DS1 has just been round, took most of his parcels and as promised I have divided the tools (I am cutting back on what I tackle so he can have things like chisels and lots of things I had 2 or more of - more space for me and saved him about £200 including the never been used drill).

Eating from the freezer, not spent any money, arm still sore but not too painful (it's on the list for when I see Doctor Dan).

Today I am grateful for lots of rest (I must need it, I'm not avoiding anything), for easy food, for seeing DS1 and for reducing clutter.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

Today was NSD 4 and tomorrow will be as well so I will be on 5 NSDs on the 10th.

Lunches from home Need to make peanut butter flapjacks and pasties tomorrow morning for lunchboxes for the kids during the week and I will sit and watch the snow fall. I love snow. Will also make some buns and stick a bread dough in the airing cupboard for lunch, it might end up being a pizza but it will get stuff used up out of the pantry without me having to buy anything.

Today I am grateful for dd staying for all her dance classes, for the trains running, for dh coming to the station with us, for starting a new knitted item, for a lovely visit with mum, for dd's total delight at the snow here, for catching the tail end of a choir singing carols in the woods, for heating.

    Day 9
Was a spend day. Have put the spends into the notebook.
Went on charity walk in London which was nice also popped into St Paul's Cathedral as it was near by. Spoke to a really lovely vicar there and she was really nice and compassionate.
Also went to a Light a Life service hosted by St Francis Hospice.
I will be fine regarding my Mum's funeral, I will not let them get the better of me.
    Grateful for:
    Completed the charity walk.
Went to a service in remembrance of lost ones, helped me.
Meeting nice people today throughout the day.
    Having a chilled out evening.
Thinking of positive things that I can try and do for my future.

Foxholes thank you very much but I am having issues with the reimbursements. They are not going in my account and when I call they just say they can't give me an idea of timescales but a manager will call back in 48 hours if i request a call back. I requested a call back last mon, wed ,fri and same again this week and Im still waiting for a call. They owe me £££s now. Luckily we can manage without but I really feel for those why cannot.

On a happier note, Im on NSD # 6. We went out for the day but my mum gave me my spending money as she was unable to come so technically she bought lunch :) we had a lovely day too :)

    Hi all turtles :j

    Checking in: 9/31

NSD: 3/15 spent today only a small amount but still..

Debt destruction: Have no debt now but not so long ago were 93K in debt so I know that I need to make sure I don't go down that slippery slope again...but we are on a fairly fixed income so need to rein the unnecessary spends which have been creeping up..

Exterminate: blown this as had a voucher, so bought for myself. However, it may yet got back..Regeneration Have to think about this one...

Clear up, clean up and take control Moved a fair bit of rubbish up to the top of the garden to the compost heaps, hindered by dogs who thought it a tremendous game to grab branches off me & run all over the garden with them..

Clean up your way of talking to yourself – clean away the negative talk and be kind and positive to yourself. Managed to send Christmas cards to Europe, plus a few for the UK..Let yourself sparkle. Looking very unsparkly today but hoping to do better tomorrow. Take control of your finances, your time, your habits, and your health. Indeed

Explore your local area – Will attempt to explore local area when we go to Ireland, there are lots of opportunities, it's such a beautiful place. Already planned where we are going - always assuming that we can make it through the snow to the ferry at Liverpool

Mental health Fine today thank goodness..

Write down 4 gratitudes each day. Grateful for: Finding a lot of presents I had forgotten we had, not feeling stressed about getting ready to go on hols (always do normally), fining some lovely jumpers in the stash, easy tea using up fridge contents.

Budget Need to do this but not got my head around finances yet, watch this space. better write some stuff down otherwise will forget..now written down but need to add up etc..

Evaluate the year you have had: Year was much better than last year, still quite a bumpy ride but am grateful for what we have.. Need to plan 5 things that will happen next year. Still a WIP
New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear

    Morning all,

This is my first possible lie in of the week and I woke at 6.20 :(

Yesterday was a very spendy day and I’m a bit upset with myself. I went to London to visit my friend. Paid for car parking and tube travel and food whilst out. She took me to her companies annual friends and family sale where loads of products are sold with at least 50% off and when the cashier totalled it up, I’d spent £93 :( I feel awful! £30 was for a friend and she’s paid me back already, £20 was on gifts for Christmas but that still means I spent £43 on myself. A few things were good idea, like the shampoo and conditioner (reduced from £14 to £2, although I know you can buy basic ranges for less than £2 in the supermarket) but I also bought nail polishes and two lipsticks and eye shadows. I will use it all eventually and my normal eye shadow ran out on Friday but I could have bought a cheapy one instead. Oh well, you live and learn, think I broke the no sales rule already! My friend then gave me a load more freebies, which was lovely of her and I’ll give some to my sisters today.

Today might be spendy, I need batteries for the Christmas tree but can’t decide whether to get them today whilst I’m off work or wait until I have to spend on another day. Only on 2 SFDs so far!

Hope you all have a lovely day, I’m waiting for the snow to arrive.
