2 litres of water, and trying to fix things when they break rather than just replacing. Opened up tumble dryer £5,99 later, waiting on the new belt to be delivered on Monday. Cheaper than a repair man. Easy fix.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

NSD today so 4/15
I'll continue exterminating the game on my phone and also stop watching TV unless there's something specific on that I actually want to watch.
I have started buying (shock horror!!) a tv magazine (55p) and looking at what I want to watch and turning off in between or catching up later. It is stopping me firegazing at night.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Can I second f0xh0les plea about contact details for students. When DS2 ended up in hospital, it was his flatmates who got him help when he needed it, they urged him to phone me (it was evening when he did) and every night when I had to leave him, they took it in turns to stay at his bedside, bringing in games and films on their laptops and feigning sleep when the nurses came round (It was against hospital policy for them to be there overnight).
They talked to him (really talked as men so often fail to) and were far more helpful and supportive than the university - he missed a couple of exams whilst he was in hospitaland the university just said he should retake the whole year.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Sadly had news that someone has stolen our entire delivery of oil over in Ireland, so have to order again....neighbours kindly keep an eye on the place but didn't see this happen..just hope no-one nicks it over the weekend till we get there...no idea how to stop this happening again...
You can get a lock for your cap. It has been happening for years. As the oil prices rise, sadly there are chancers out there willing to risk it. They even do it at night when houses are occupied so hopefully they will assume yours is still empty and not return.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Hi all turtles :j
Checking in: 8/31
NSD: 3/15
Debt destruction: Have no debt now but not so long ago were 93K in debt so I know that I need to make sure I don't go down that slippery slope again...but we are on a fairly fixed income so need to rein the unnecessary spends which have been creeping up..
Exterminate: Nothing bought for myself Regeneration Have to think about this one...
Clear up, clean up and take control Bit limited today as woke up with bad back & leg pain, no idea where that came from, yikes.... Seems to have eased a bit now tk goodness. Moved a few more bits but not as much as I'd like..
Clean up your way of talking to yourself – clean away the negative talk and be kind and positive to yourself. Plrased with what I did do, when all added up...Let yourself sparkle. We did have a sparkle but that involved opening a bottle of sparkly liqueur!! Take control of your finances, your time, your habits, and your health. Indeed
Explore your local area – Will attempt to explore local area when we go to Ireland, there are lots of opportunities, it's such a beautiful place.
Mental health Bit bothered by back/leg situation but seems almost back to normal now..so feeling positive re holiday
Write down 4 gratitudes each day. Grateful for: First real fire lit of the year it was lovely, small sparkly drink to celebrate, made HM chicken soup out of leftovers, very tasty and lovely lights in local area..
Budget Need to do this but not got my head around finances yet, watch this space. better write some stuff down otherwise will forget..now written down but need to add up etc..
Evaluate the year you have had: Year was much better than last year, still quite a bumpy ride but am grateful for what we have.. Need to plan 5 things that will happen next year. Still a WIP
Thanks very much for the tip f0xh0les; will investigate - I'm sure I'm not the only one to have had this problem. Will also need to fit some lights in the house with timers on, but as you say they come even when folk are living there. We are pretty isolated - except for the neighbours across the way - and I think the tank is visible when the leaves fall, being at the side of the road..
Dolly84 - thanks, had to laugh re your legwarmers & the teenagers - oh how nice it is to be able to embarrass them, they are so easy to wind up tooNew start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear0 -
Fly by posting, Mum needed help with hanging new curtains and collecting presents, I did manage to get to the gym, but fell asleep while sorting the post last night. NSD yesterday, took something back but it covered the YS stuff and I still have some pennies in my pocket.
I'll be losing a planned NSD todaypresents miscalculation, really hate hitting shops on a Saturday at the best of times. It can not be helped though, DD1's dad has to have a present and I won't have time to do get it with her next week. I'll be mixing the trip with some of the final City of Culture stuff (free) to make the most of the petrol burn!
I hope you are alright KerryWoman, welcome back Mothernerd. Sashanut, oil theft is a major thing around these parts. It's so expensive to bury the tank, and police cut backs mean they just aren't interested.Debt Free April 2019:j to July 2019NEW WTC:eek:1,194

Kerry Woman - hope things run smoothly for the funeral and that you give your mum the send off you want to. Also hope you are able to find another church to go to, where you feel welcomed.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Hi all
Yday was NSD 5. I did pay milkman but monies aside as I dont know when he will rock up.
Budget now 56 pounds plus a little cash in my purse- I have however saved an extra 100 pounds which is why my budgets gone down. I get paid on the 22nd & I know I can manage on that hence why I saved
Had a massive argument with tax free child care about the £££s they owe me.not really getting anywhere. Really greatful I dont NEED it as I know many do.
Today I am grateful for- my parents taking kids downstairs after a hard night with them, finding Santa's lost buttonhow lucky my kids are (I hope when they're old enough they understand that having all we need is lucky) & for cups of tea

NSD 3 (still) as I had to take out £40 for kids' haircuts (Wed), went c/s book shopping for kids presents (Thurs) and tumble dryer broke and needed to order a replacement belt (Thurs) but will be fitted ourselves saving loads. And yesterday (Fri) I needed £ coins for Jumper Day at school (all from c/s) so needed to break a note.
Am going to try and get all 'foreign' presents bought today and sent on Monday as the last guaranteed postage to Ireland is the 15th (NEXT FRIDAY) and the rests of Europe was yesterday. All those weekends in the way make it a very early last post this year. So of course SNOW is forecast.
Debt destruction: Have £130 on a credit card at the moment. But waiting until bill comes in. Paying off the mortgage interest daily. Have got a remortgage in place with a slightly better % deal and 4.5 years less on the term ready to go in Feb.
Exterminate: I have not had a biscuit today, but it is not yet 9am. Work in progress?
Regeneration heading toward the water jug
Clear up, clean up and take control I can control my living space. I will continue stripping wallpaper on the stairs and off the ceilings (woodchip - sigh!) Will hoover and clear up, wrap and order. Send the parcels so that they are out of the way.
Clean up your way of talking to yourself – Not a problem, I am my biggest cheerleader, I absolutely adore me. Honestly, I am the best me I have ever met. :rotfl:
Explore your local area – If the local area involves the top of my stairs, a ladder and a wallpaper scraper, I have explored it minutely.
Mental health Excellent at the minute. DH had a couple of students who were basically on suicide watch on one of their housemates. He is no longer in danger. DH has begun to calm down a bit.
He takes his responsibilities very seriously.
Gratitudes No one complained about only having bacon/sausage sandwiches for supper last night. I could not be faffed to stand in the kitchen for an hour doing the whole minimum 5 a day thing. The kitchen was cold.
Jumper day at school went well. Lots of decorations made with kids.
Grateful some of those kids were not mine (sorry! - some were horrid:rotfl:)
Grateful it is nearly the end of term - but getting annoyed at all the trips suddenly appearing - £20 to go to a free museum in London.
Budget All good. Keeping on top of everything. Knowledge (and a notebook) is power.
Evaluate the year you have had:
All in all pretty good, could have done better, but honestly, it could have been sooooo much worse. :T
