Yesterday was a spendy day. Did the top up shop for the week and went out for lunch. Should have gone to my grandad’s and taken him out but it’s an hours drive on a bad road and he told us not to come in the snow (my aunts and uncles live on the next road so they will keep an eye on him)
Yesterday I was grateful for:-
- dog walks in the snow
- my family
- my mini Christmas tree
- having plenty of foodLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Hi all
Today is NSD # 7
Doing ok with my positive thinking & exterminating worry. My positive action to introduce will be save small amounts. Im very good at saving extra 50s & 100s but I would never bother putting left over 5s (as an example) in my savings. So ill start by putting 6 quid in today-
Budgets- gave hub some money yday so with my 6 quid save I have 30 quid in my acc & a tenner in my purse. Nothing to buy now until I go away fri/sat and that will do me for a shop when I get back. In savings now is 606 pounds plus I bought some alcohol yday for xmas using my main budget so I suspect ill have at least 20 left over now from xmas food budget.
Explore & something that makes me happy- going light spotting tonight
Today is all about organising getting ready for the my working week0 -
On Saturday we called into our little town and parked in Sainsburys as I needed to call in there anyway. You only get 1.5 hrs car parking there (monitored in and out by camera) and we got back in plenty of time but there had been an accident on the motorway and the whole area was gridlocked and it took us 35 minutes to get out of the car park. I reckon we were a few minutes over - anyone any ideas where we would stand if we got a fine?
Took the dog for a very long walk around the woods yesterday morning then later went to TK Maxx and ended up spending some money, I bought two particular candles that I love which were much, much cheaper than retail price, a 4 pack of thick socks to share with DH and some underwear for DS. It could have been worse, if there were more of the candles I would probably have bought more but they only had one of each.
Today I plan to take the dog for a short walk, bake some banana muffins for lunchboxes, make a sort of Christmas dinner for me and DH as our kids hate it so we won't be having it on the day, clean the bathroom, no paid work to do today. I need to do some exercise so will have to do a T25 DVD as it is too icy to do anything outside.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

F0xh0les. They agree they owe me, they just dont know why monies not going in my bank & they don't know what to do about it.
Sounds very much like they have the wrong bank details or have merged accounts with someone else. They have certain 'trigger phrases' like their actions are causing ' immediate financial distress' to you and your family, and 'causing financial hardship' because of their inability to pay, and impacting your ability to access childcare and having a detrimental effect on your ability to work.
Really hope you get it sorted. I found their online chat thing was much better than the phone, then actual physical letters written on wood:rotfl:.
If they think they are paying, but it is not going in your account, someone like me is probably going to get a horrible letter soon.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

The weather is really helping our budget. NSD 6 in the bag yesterday. Snow has turned into lethal ice so took the day off and doubt there will be any spending today either. Starting to get really bored of the weather nowSPC #459 no 8 2015 £203 2016 £157 2017 £70

Well the weekend was very non-spendy!! So NSDs are on 5.
Today will have to be a spend day. we are nearly out of milk and cereal and tragically, dun-dun-duuuuuuuh loo roll:eek::eek::eek:
If I take the kids then it will cost massively so will have to wait til DH comes home from work - quick trip to Mr A in the dark planned for later.
The kids' schools are closed, which is silly as there is all of 5 cm and the roads are clear. I must say that Leicester is rubbish at gritting roads. Manchester and Salford were excellent, and even Sheffield is not too shoddy on gritting the bus routes. Side roads/hills, you are on your own, but the major routes were mostly clear. Must be budgets mustn't it??
DH has wandered off to Uni on the snowy pavements, I have never regretted the decision I made 4 years ago to only live within walking distance of DHs work. No commuting hassle is utterly priceless, even if it means not having a garden. He is happier, and I don't get earache about buses not turning up or Arriva apps showing 'ghost buses'. :rotfl:
Did an experiment this morning, and did not wake kids up. At the weekend, they are up at 6am. I wake them at 7am on a school day. I did not tell them school was closed today, and they did not get up until 8am. Needless to say they are camped out in front of the computer very happy snow bunnies.
So, today will not be a NSD4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

#19 Checking in Day 11....
Debt Plan - NSD 4/15 don't need anything today
Exterminate - Limited use of FB tonight and 2 satsumas instead of 1.
Clear Up - Bed side table is being sorted tonight (any tips on making greying white bras white again)?
Explore - DH drove me to work and went a completely different way. As a passenger I was also able to enjoy the beauty of the snow in all the trees through a rural area.
Mental Health - Wide awake in the small hours thinking how many sandwiches to make to DS party on Sunday. Will do a list of what I need to buy food wise this will make me feel more organised.
Budget - This needs some work to bring everything back into line. Will be great one December is over. I have realised thought that I hardly spend any money on fun things or just for me.
Evaluate - Need to treat myself to something little or fun every month otherwise what is the point?!
Remember - Nothing charitable today I'm sorryLightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £175/£2600 -
f0xh0lesIll try those phrases, thank you. Ive been trying to get it sorted sinse june, confirmed bank details more times than I care to remember. Like you say, its likely my money elsewhere which makes me feel guilty. Like you I would know if my payments were excessive and not spend it but not every one will know especially if they've been messed about too. Years ago when hub & I first moved into army housing they took less than they should have for months from his wage and we ended up owing a small fortune in rent through no fault of our own other than not noticing their error. Lesson learned!!0

Today has been spendy as we ran out of loo roll! Also got some more salad for lunches and some yellow sticker bakery bits. Didn’t spend a lot, it was under £10.
Had a shorter day at work to make up for the longer one I will have tomorrow as I’m on a query shift until five so will have to stick around!
I also found £3.00 today on my table that I didn’t realise was there! It might not seem like a lot but actually, I’ll be really impressed with myself if it can stay in my purse!
Gratitudes: the car working in the snow, central heating, my DH for making dinner, a relaxed evening.February Grocery Budget: £190.75/£350.00
