DS2 off school today (finally announced at 6.30am this morning - some students have to leave to get there by then!) DS1 and DS3 at school. DD finally managed to get back to uni (Cardiff) today from in the Valleys, where she was for the weekend. Snow mostly gone from here - but ice overnight may create problems. DS" was meant to go on school trip to a panto in a different town today, but theatre also shut (as well as school) - will hopefully mean a refund/ reschedule - he was very disappointed, but better safe!

Today I am grateful for a good night's sleep, for travelling back home smoothly, for helpful train staff, for getting a seat on all our trains, for being home in time to get to the dentist, for dh putting up some fairy lights- and they look magical, for having a cunning plan in place with the dentist, for having a warm coat in the bitter winds.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

\Day started well but then fell asleep (sort of lost enthusiasm for the day). Woke refreshed from the nap, ticked off a few errands but hit the lunchtime queues and was late for exercise class. Walked there as the bus passed me just before I got to the stop.
Struggling with the return of the hacking cough and the cold air was tearing at my lungs (need to find asthma inhaler if there is one in the drawer). Various bits aching/ sore, worsened throughout the day.
Mum had a lengthy list which required explaining but did not need me to go back with her. Short rest at home then set off for sorting office to collect a parcel for DS1 - he's coming back tomorrow to collect the things he couldn't carry last time, I need to bring the sledgehammer downstairs and find the lump hammer.
Was on my last legs by the time I reached the sorting office (very sympathetic P.O. worker kept calling me darling and telling me to get home and have a hot drink). Had passed the once an hour bus on my into the depot so stopped at the convenient doctor's surgery for five minutes sit down and to use their toilet.
Carried on to Icyland and did a mega shop. Not sure how much I spent (some is for mum and some split between us, stuff I need for my contribution to Wednesday's party plus stocked up on some things I can only get there) but feel as though I am coming down with something and will feel relieved if we have food in. Apart from tinned toms, fresh and frozen veg (limited selection) and herbs/ spices/ condiments we were out/low on most things so unlikely to have bought 'unecessary' items. Included a large turkey and a leg of lamb for New Year, both of which I will cook this week. Planning vats of turkey stew using the legs and any remaining veg. Will be good if I am ill and help ward it off/ boost me immune system if I am not.
All to be delivered between 12 and 2pm tomorrow and I will sort mum's stuff and take it with me to hers (did start with seperate piles, trolley with 2 baskets but gave up and decided to go through the bill at home). Lucky to have got so far through winter without succumbing to any lurgies. Sat on one of the new benches (pedestrian area has been revamped) watching the Christmas lights changing colour. As it has been a spendy day I will do a couple of on-line orders tonight. I have banked my Christmas money from mum so will order some material and an embroidery pattern I want (too indulgent for an everyday spend) and spend a similar amount on Oxfam unwrapped (more goats or piles of poo?) rest is going to savings. If I can stay awake long enough and get those two organised, I will compile a master list to the year end and do home deliveries here and at mum's.
Today I am grateful for being able to buy the food I need (plus enough to stock up), for being mostly well (bar the odd ache and pain) this far into the bad weather, for getting some things done, despite not feeling great and for getting pleasure from the little things (Beloved has added a little more to the decorations every time I come in).

Today I feel grateful for everything.
A NSD of sorts (spent but it was Christmas related and that is a separate budget). Had a good counselling session. Had a mini disco in the kitchen to Queen songs ahead of seeing them live this weekend.
Have spent the weekend with my brother and his GF who were visiting, lots of mulled wine was consumed, had a lovely time.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Was a spend day. Finally managed to sort out Mum's death certificate. Went to bingo this evening with my friend.
Mental health - had not so good sleep.
Grateful for:
Sister and niece popping in before niece had to go to dentist.
Friend took me to register Mum's death.
Getting the death certificate sorted and for the nice staff at the registry office.
Making contact with the undertaker who I know to try and arrange meeting up to start sorting out the funeral arrangements.
Went with friend to play bingo.

Good night all,
5NSDs and another packed lunch prepared from freezer.
Took the dogs on a winter wonder walk and stocked up the bird table at night once they’d fed at dusk.
Mental reminder to leave food at food bank tomorrow as will be a spend day as need diesel to travel.
Check to myself as unable to recall any good deed I did to another today that’d improve their self worth and day. Aim to correct tomorrow.
