Went into town with a friend yesterday, did a bit of window shopping, she bought me tes and cake and then we came home. Us oldies know how to have fun!!.
Pouring down today so I've organised the fridge and made a pan of soup with the wilted veg.
De-cluttered a few cards to the neighbours.
Not sure what to do for the rest of the day. Maybe stop reading on here and start some knitting.

Day 13
Was a spend day. Ordered the flowers for my Mum's funeral. Brother and sister to help with the cost. We had already discussed what we wanted to do.
Did more shredding of paperwork and put it into recycling bin.
Grateful for:
Finally got a date and time for my Mum's funeral.
For brother and sister in helping with the arrangements for the funeral. Still some bits to be sorted out.
Being able to do the majority of writing of Christmas cards.
For someone who I know phoning me up and having a chat when he heard about my Mum's death/funeral and offering help.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130 -
Checking in before I fall asleep again. Cushion got finished and wrapped. Presents went in the stocking. Christmas card and birthday card with inspirational messages inside. Sandwiches made and plated up. leg of lamb cooked. Paid for taxi to centre.
Surprise party was a great success although we were a little worried that the birthday girl would not show up (especially as someone with a big mouth nearly messed everything up last week). She was a little overwhelmed but loved everything. So pleased (I was a little bit afraid that she would bolt).
Easy tea from fridge. Going to relax/ sleep (release of tension) and start again tomorrow. beloved is washing half her wardrobe (probably the things she has decided to take to her parents for the next few days) so will leave her to it and start afresh in the morning. Will bring bin in then as well, unless I wake bright eyed and bushy tailed later on.
Today I am grateful for being able to find/ substitute all the things I needed, for a lovely relaxed party with friends (n social anxiety), for being able to make a difference and for having a few ideas on how to spend money on myself.
Thought for the Day (tongue in cheek inspiration)

Today I am grateful for my alarm clock, for lovely work colleagues, for lots of positive comments about my elf jumper - it had a bell on the hood so I was jingling all day!, for a lift part of the way home meaning that I missed some heavy rain, for a quick substitute tea when I burned the original beyond belief, for discovering that a colleague had done the listening exam with my y11s when he covered my lesson on mon - thus saving us all a ton of stress next term, for finding some gifts in our stash that we can allocate, for the hm chocs being a hit so I'll make some more as presents.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Apple muncher how did you make the chocs? I can't do gluten or dairy either and was thinking of trying to make some. Would be great if I could something to work parties that I know I could eat.

We have some gf df choc from sainz - own brand - which I melted in a bowl over hot water and then spooned/spatula'd into the moulds. So, nowt fancy, and it worked!
I also do a gf df cookie recipe which I originally had from Lilty, which I'll dig out.

Hi All,
Just checking in, today is a spend day so still on 8. hoping tomorrow will be my 9th. Hub has been billed for something at work so I have had to pay that and the kids need socks (where do they go)
Putting my name down for over time next week. no childcare to pay will hopefully help me get a little more in savings.
Lots of lovely exploring In Edinburgh this weekend. which will also be good for my mental health,
not managed to clear out many items but I will when I am off next week!
Still need to make my donation to food banks, keep meaning to, might do that on my lunch.
Hope everyone has a lovely dayxx

Yesterday was a spend day, I did a grocery shop and DH also put diesel in his car, there is £11 left in the fuel budget which needs to go in mine this weekend.
My kids don't finish school until next Friday which is just awful, no nice build up for Christmas, straight out of school and straight into it.
I need to buy my last present today and hopefully the one I ordered on ebay will arrive this week, it would have been here if they had posted it but they are using Hermes and they are slow.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
