  • Today I am grateful for finding some unworn warm winter boots for dd in a ch shop (last weekend highlighted her lack of proper winter footwear), for fun at work, for lovely chats with lovely colleagues, for getting all my stuff home, for getting some tidying up done, for getting to dd's carol concert and her taekwondo grading, for a dry day, for getting a workout done this morning, for having a plan for tomorrow.

f0xh0lesThanks :) Yes absolutely, Ive got a managers direct email and phone number so basically shes processed all my owed payments and as and when the next ones due I can email her directly and she will issue it. Also, because I have her name I have someone to make accountable rather than just calling a call cente. Fingers crossed i see this next week :D
  • I hope everyone is safe.

7 NSD, packed lunch in oven for tomorrow.
Pleased that other colleagues have called foul with me regarding mistraatment of other employees. You can only make a stand from within.
Decluttering continues - eBay and charity but only 2/31 to date.
Laughter in the home tonight, walk with dogs in the dark, good to smell the cold.

HUGS Kerry Woman. A SFD for me. Cooked the turkey (breast to be sliced and frozen, legs made into turkey stew with any veg I find lurking in the kitchen).

Went to CBT - quite a good session (I probably talked too much). It was mostly on different types of negative thinking and I was familiar with a number of them. Very tired afterwards but plodding on with tidying and cleaning.

Today I am grateful for not getting caught in the hail (coat still wet from yesterday), for easy food (now eating odds and sods from mum's freezer), for making progress (forward is forward, even at snail's pace), for being determined to see this through, however long it takes.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

    Morning all,

SFD number 5 yesterday. Walked the dogs in the dark after work and got a fair bit of work done too.

Today should be a SFD, I’m off to a friends for a Christmas get together but she insists we don’t bring anything with us!

Not feeling I’ll today so must have fought it off.

Morning all. Hope everyone is safe and well.

Me and DH went for a run last night but had to call it quits after half a mile due to the pavements being a sheet of ice and I draw the line at running in the road at night.

DH got given a bottle of wine and a tub of celebrations yesterday at work, my wine rack is now full which is a very pleasant sight for me, I love wine.

I got DH's Christmas present (we weren't buying for each other but I saw this unexpectedly), a BNWT Gap merino wool jumper in a charity shop for £3.50, its gorgeous and I am very pleased.

The roads were so busy yesterday I didn't get chance to get the other present I intended to buy so will try to get that today. I am quite pleased that I saved DD £10, she wanted to buy the new Dan Brown book a while back but I talked her out of it and reserved it at the library, it took a while but she got it and finished it this week and she said it was OK but she didn't love it, she is however still intending to pick it up secondhand when she sees it.

Not working today so I will get the house cleaned for the weekend, walk the dog, check the bank, exercise if possible, eat pizza, drink wine and watch a film tonight.

Grateful today for: getting new brakes and tyres in spring. I am sure it is helping with all this ice. A few slides, not stopping when I expected too, but because I was careful -no harm done. Gritting was non-existent this morning. Proper ice rink out there.

    NSD6 still

Debt destruction: Remortgage sorted - down to a 20yr term and 0.25% off the interest rate. So we now have an official debt free date of 1/3/38- will aim for 1/3/28, well, not really cos we will not be staying here. So I have a first ]destruction aim of £105k before Easter and a second destruction aim of £100k before Xmas 2018

    Exterminate Facebook gone from phone.
I ate ALL the biscuits. Well, I shared with the kids but it is cold and we have been having warm caramel milk/ hot choc every night before their bedtime and we may have decimated an ENTIRE packet of Spekulatius in 3 days. But they did go in their lunch boxes too. (I ate most of them)

Clear up, clean up and take control. Cleaned all 5 bedrooms this morning and hoovered, cleaned all bathrooms, hoovered down to the bottom tread of the staircase before I was allowed to stop for a cup of tea. Feel happier knowing it is done. Just the ground floor to be cleaned and disinfected. My plan is to make it to the kitchen door before going to get the kids, then I can shut myself in the kitchen and do a deep clean and all the laundry over the weekend, while having a baking session.

Mental health.. Do something every day this month that makes you feel good: The hot chocolate is helping and those lovely hot water bottles are fantastic. I just removed 6 hot water bottles from 3 bedrooms. I need to convince these kids to bring their stuff downstairs or Santa is going on holiday.
Budget I still have money left - so all going well.

Evaluate 2017It is not over yet!! and still time to get a bit more done.
No parties, invitations or anything like that for me. DH did the office party last night, he met them after the meal, so everyone remembers he was there but he did not have to sit through an awful vegan option.

Keep warm everyone! I have had to scrape snow off my car every day this week so far. Proper winter weather, finally. The kids are proper giddy with it.

    Day 15
Was a spend day. Food shopping, post cards overseas and toiletries for homeless for a shower over Christmas at local Salvation Army. Signature and notebook updated with spends.
Handed in toiletries to the local Salvation Army.
    Tidy bit of decluttering.
    Grateful for-
    Spending time with a friend.
Making frugal plans with friend for social time in January. Spending evenings at each other's flats watching films and having a bite to eat.
Received an email to say that I won a book.
Received an sympathy card from a Catholic priory retreat where my Mum and I visited in the past and where my Mum received their newsletter. She will remembered daily community mass for a whole year.
    Having a chilled out evening.
