Hope dd has had a lovely bday greent.
Today I am grateful for dd being much better, for a quiet day inside, for finding a Judy Moody film to watch with dd, for strongman episodes, for finding some bonje1a in the chemist, for step ds + fiancee coming round, for dh cooking tea for us all, for having an abundance.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
This week has been manic! I never want another one like it.
DD1's bday party is now behind me. _party_
I'm not best impressed with Benefit Makeup counter. Her B'day treat. We bought her a box set (main present) when it was on sale, and booked a makeover at the same time. I took the sales assistant aside and told her this today. As I didn't want DD1 knowing what she was getting on her actual birthday. She didn't listen. Today I was forced to purchase a second "box" as they require two item purchase. Not that I was told this at the time of booking- AND the darn box I had already bought has five items in it. Learned a nasty lesson there. The second box is going back tomorrow. Disgusted to say the least. DD1 will be upset at the fact that the big box of shiny isn't being kept. Not happening.
Seething. SO much. I have no idea how to complain about it.
That on top of a complete Santa meltdown yesterday. DD1 lost the plot (I still don't know why, other than she wanted to talk about parties) The English Heritage place I had booked wouldn't hold DD2's place while she went to the toilet....20 minutes of jigging, fearing, and as a result DD2 pushing in to get time with santa just so she could go to the loo.:( Result snarky parents getting in my face, DD2 not getting to the loo in time... but at least Santa didn't end up with a wet knee. :rotfl:Nor was DD2 embarassed. She just wanted to enjoy herself and the Enchanted Garden/Fair.
Today I really wasn't in the mood for the party venue to try pulling a "We changed the menu you owe more" on me. Or the down grading of the party booth to a "shared booth". I think they must have seen the thunder bolts zapping over head.
Chocolate has been my crutch. I hate it when that happens cause I don't take the time to enjoy it. Stress eating at its best. I've seen a side of DD1 I hope never to see again, when I am more with it I might be able to figure out how to go forward with her.
But, in the middle of all the mania, strops, and yelling I pulled another NSD, lost one too. I am completely shattered. Mum wants me to take her shopping for my present next week. If I ever see a shop again it will be too soon at the minute. Sadly I can not recall what I said I would do for regeneration. I do know I booked in on the yoga at the leisure centre, but discovered on arrival that the start time means ten minute before then so you have time to warm up. Would have been nice to know beforehand.
DH has agreed to a one day on, one day off type nightcap. He's also told everyone not to buy him drink for Christmas.
Remember: Cookies to the homeless.
Explore: found a little used bridle path, and much needed tranquility in the mindless few days. Didn't matter that it was freezing.
Extra Income: Unexpected royalties.
Gratitudes: Mum helping ferry kids to the party. Parents sending thank yous. Quiet moments. Sugar in copious amounts. Cheeky smiles from DD2. Royalties appearing unannounced. Knowing that you organised bunch inspired me to wrap presents earlier this week, and its not a job waiting for me :T:j
I am off to claim back my organisation, (food planning) sanity and sleep.Debt Free April 2019:j to July 2019NEW WTC:eek:1,194

Hugs Dancing Dragons.
Lost my post. Not spent any money but making very slow progress - feel I am on a hamster wheel of taking out rubbish/ recycling but I can only see the rest of the mess if I remove the surface layer. So far done 2 bags of rubbish (much compacted) 3 large bags for life of recycling and pots (mostly recycling) and am thinking about doing clothes as I can't see the floor in their room - as Beloved is away I can work in whichever room DS3 isn't occupying.
Will keep plodding, need some easy wins. Moved ahndtools into one box now that DS1 has taken some of them. made room for screws and fittings box/ drill bits box on the shelf, garden bag underneath and room for other tool bits on bottom shelf. Will free up more 'pantry' space and will be able to move the small table in to provide more gadget space, leaving my worktops clutterr free.
That's the theory anyway. have already agreed with Beloved that some (many) of her gadgets are 'load up and go' (dehydrator/ ice crusher slushy maker/ rice cooker) so do not need to be on the worktops - could go on small table or under stairs as long as they are near an electrical socket (4 under the stairs).
Today I am grateful for easy food, getting things out of the house, simplifying bits of the house, progress (very very slow but progress). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

To my left is an ex-cannabis factory house, I am not sure if they even have electricity, just after they were raided by the police, the immigration squad raided them. There is someone in there. They are very, very, very quiet.........
To my right the house is rented out on a room by room basis. They are all nice men, but I won't be popping around. They laugh at my efforts at parallel parking. :rotfl:
Lots of students around us.

Dancing dragons I would complain directly to benefit & explain to them why you're taking the box back.
I hope everyone is well.
We are here in Edinburgh, having a lovely time. Obviously lots of spending so still on 8. Trying to watch my spending & not get too carried away:)
Off to get some new stationary for the new year later:) and some new slippers. Rock & roll
Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend0 -
Dancing Dragons - what an appalling day. Get yourself straight on Twitter or Facebook and make a public complaint about Benefit, companies respond very quickly when you use these platforms to complain.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Well, back from my holiday to my trusty little laptop. I just cannot use a tablet properly, I think I've got fat fingers and jumpy hands!
We had a lovely time but I've lost track of spending. We had a meal out once with my son but that was because a power cut ruined the plan we had. Definitely too much eating and drinking though I did cut that down a bit on the second week when the guests had gone.
Still avoiding the computer games and I've read three books instead. Much more satisfying.
I've put some money aside for the reverse advent and I'll get some supplies this week. I've decided to split it between the local foodbank (which is apparently doing well at the moment) and the homeless mission who really need some very basic items.
Food shop today (I'm not even going to mention NSDs) and I have to put up the Christmas tree.
Must go get C out of bed or we'll get nothing done.
Have a good Sunday.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Short post before the internet goes again. Think I need a new hub. Today is NSD 14. Not going out saves a fortune.
Still clearing things out, keeps the recycling company in work :rotfl::rotfl:
Dancing Dragons I'd complain to benefit and to the place you had your meal.
Not much happening here.Christmas sorted.

Sorry I’ve been quiet, few busy days this week.
I’m only on NSD 5/15 so it’s going to be a Challenge to hit 15 but I shall try. I’m not so bothered as long as I’m in budget though.
Other than that I’ve been plodding along, I’m not doing terrible but I haven’t been an angel either. Grocery shopping has been high but this has also included some presents.
Had our friends Christmas Do last night which was fantastic. I really enjoyed it. My last Christmas Do is Wednesday for work Christmas dinner and then that’s it. Nothing planned for new year.
Went to the cinema this morning to watch Star Wars with the husband. That was nice as we haven’t been to the cinema in a year (last time was to watch Rogue One).
I’m grateful for: friends, a fun weekend, the money to enjoy ourselves once in a while, my grandmothers generosity (I’m visiting her later and she always has a little goodie bag for me!)February Grocery Budget: £190.75/£350.00
