Sorry I dont understand why you cant get a precription for what DD2 needs.
If I was you I would be pushing for what she needs on script & that includes enough nappies & syringes.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. It's the guidelines beanie. I've asked several healthcare providers here that's the guidelines.
She's been assessed as only needing 2.5 nappies a day. Postcode lottery I guess? Same for speech therapy and other services.“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”5 -
I know they won't give calpol/paracetamol on script here as a one off, but surely if DD needs to take it every day for medical reasons that's totally different and unfair of them not to prescribe it especially with you being on UC as well. xx7

Guidelines
Why can they not be a guide and not a set number, especially when someone is on UC and its not more than double the "guide"

My doctor explained it to me. If they write a prescription for an item that can be bought over the counter more cheaply, the NHS pays up to 4 times as much for it.

Re the phonics screening - it’s a screening that is done by the class teacher in the second week of June as it’s a statutory assessment, meaning no one knows what is on the screening until the school opens it in the second week of June. Lots of schools do practices, but nothing to worry about at this time of year. If you are at all worried about it, pm me. I can get some sample copies of practice screenings to you if you want them.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

I'm aware of the expense she is to the NHS. I do try to do my bit and not complain about having to buy those things however in situations like now where I can't get the usual items we use and it will reach the point I can't afford to meet the difference? I'm annoyed at people. Not at the NHS.
Postcode lottery is a real thing. If we lived under a different trust we would receive better funding for therapies - speech therapy - physio - hydrotherapy. All things given to a patient in a similar situation just a few miles down the road. We will have our funding cut right back down to 1 session of speech therapy every 6 weeks. We don't have access to hydro. Physio is once every 8 weeks. Wheelchair services? Months and months of waiting for something with better support - or I find the funds to purchase it myself. Carers - not eligible anymore even though the carers themselves wrote reports on how much input is needed -too much for one person. Impossible.
I don't moan about it often. But when all these things are going on and then you can't get basic things because those who probably aren't even going to need them are stockpiling months worth it's so frustrating.
HSL if you could send me that it would be amazing I would love to work on it with her at home.

I feel like I still don't really have much else to say. I really appreciate all the replies and things.
I'm really struggling still with the anxiety. It's definitely not under control it's actually really controlling me quite badly. I just don't know what to do. I need to get on top of a lot of things to make it feel less I think maybe who knows.
