(((Hugs))) for Dizzy and Lynne. It feels never-ending when you're waiting for it to be done, and there is always a low point when it looks and feels terrible, but it will work out in the end. Sorry you're both at such a :( point.

Dancemum it sounds as though you were a whirlwind of activity yesterday. I hope everything's okay.

I think sudden bad news or bereavements are oddly sort of cumulative, Fayolle. It's as if we only have so much 'calm coping' in our system and we're suddenly overwhelmed by too much of an unexpected shock.

As to your FiL's stuff being dragged back into your lovely cleared space, I feel your pain. However, that stuff is not your responsibility so although seeing it is a bit of a pain, you're not involved with it emotionally if you see what I mean. The stuff that my OH has had in the loft, untouched for 22 years, was basically moved straight out of his mother's house to where it's been while he got used to his 'new' life with me. That sounds as though he was a bit of a mama's boy and that isn't the case at all.

Kelpie had me up and trotting him around the block twice during the night (2.15 am and 5.45 am) and his tummy's still not right. *sigh* I've got another set of minutes to do which will not be hanging around for weeks and a second booking for next week (hurrah!) so I really must finish those two rooms today. Then I really, really want to get on with the second drawer in the filing cabinet so that the worst of the worst of the worst is done and everything else will feel like plain sailing in comparison.
    Better is good enough.

  • Morning All,

Off volunteering shortly, have already been for a half hour swim :A I really needed it to de-stress, the children were on fine whinging form this morning! I skipped away when I dropped them off!

Dizzy, Dancemum, Kelpie, Pigger's Back - sending you all much needed positive vibes. Dizzy - it sounds like doing DH work stuff was a step too far. The house has to be the priority - practise saying NO to anything else. Once you have your lovely home sorted life will be so much easier. It seems never-ending for you, but you need to look after YOU too y'know, it is allowed!

Thanks for the Christmas card details Natty :D xx

So far I have unloaded DW, figured out how to take child lock off it (that DS put on!!), and tipped contents of heated airer onto our bed to sort and fold. Beds also made. An hour out volunteering now, then home for lunch and dog walking. Suppose I should do some paid stuff for DH too!

Not a lot going to happen in the Wolf's Lair today apart from attending to Suzie's needs; today is Mr LW's visit to the consultant.

The plan is for me to go along with him and bring the car back,, then go and pick him up afterwards, as we can't be sure he'll be out before the 2 hours parking time is up.

It's only 3.6 miles each way, and a straightforward route, for which I have also made very detailed notes including the names of all the roundabouts I have to go over, but I'm still terrified.:(

Frequently. Here, have a couple of spoons *lobs spoons over to donnajt*

ETA Flying-wise, I've washed the thin blanket that usually lives in the lounge over the summer; that can then be put away in favour of the thick winter one.

I've got a house full of half-done jobs! Basically I've spent two years finishing things off and trying really, really hard not to start anything new.
    Better is good enough.
  • I hope it went well LW xx

Back from freezing cold school run. Decided we are putting the tree up this weekend (away following two weekends so we either do it v early or v late!)

How did the drive go LameWolf?

    Decluttering:
    1 bag rubbish
Couple bits for clothes for cash
    Stool - freecycled
    Xmas presents hidden
DD's old toy box* taken out of bedroom (freeing loads of space) brought downstairs to be painted and papered and used for storage in living room

*toybox has been had 4 refurbs - started by winnie the pooh, then painted pink with fairies, recycled to DS toyboy when he was born green & white, back to DD's bedroom - painted black and white
