Lynne - I am incensed on your behalf. Have you paid them anything yet and/or signed a contract? if not I would be very sorely tempted to tell them where to stick it. Things like this madden me as DH is a tradesman and wouldn't dream of doing something like this - presumably they don't need the business if they think they can treat customers that way!!

Hope today is better Dizzy xx
Well done on the weight loss Iona - i am low carbing from now on and aiming for 15k steps per day... x

DH has no work for today :( so I have set him a list of tasks to do at home! It keeps him from under my feet :)

    So far:
    - dog walked
    - school run done
    - half an hour of business admin for DH
    - work emails sent for DH
    - Kids beds made

It's blowing a hooly here but wet too so washing can go on heated airer. Should factor in washing my hair at some point too :o

    Back later xx
    MFW :)

Everyone away to college and school, DS2 to work.. damn I like saying that! haha..
DW on so we have a few pans and plates.. it needs another run through so get the kitchen even vaguely clear. I have at least 3 loads of washing to do which means I have 6 loads to fold and the airer to clear.

Tummy is off again.. I had chocolate last night ... it doen't like chocolate very much any more.

Twinkle is rather enjoying The Clangers this week.. she thinks they are doggies, but who am I to argue?

Knitting catch up must be done and I need to find a pattern for jumpers for little boys :D I have a 45L stacking crate of yarn to knit before I can get my downstairs loo fitted.. I could sell some I guess.. but it is very pretty!

I've decided that I am not going to get any further than level 1 this week. Then anything else will be a bonus. DH is finishing work at lunchtime so will be under my feet for a short while before disappearing off again to sort some more "stuff" from FiL's house. DH has just suggested that he takes my cs bag to FiL's house, so it can be stacked up there??! No way. That bag is in the back of my car now and waiting for drop off later. I do wonder just what planet DH lives on sometimes. Quite a lot of the time actually. :rotfl:
So this morning I have stripped the beds, WM is running, been for a damp jog which turned into a walk as it was so wet and the leaves were too slippery, showered and done the hated hair wash, and now I'm going to tackle the level 1 from this week, before writing an errand list for later. Oh and I have some things to order online for DD.

Dizzy - take it easy, Hun. I know that's easier said than done....x
Lynne - I totally agree with ATB. After a year of no bathroom we have finally got a company that has (so far) turned up when they said they would, and generally just keep us in the loop. The downside is that the fitting is now not for ages, because they are booked up. Because they do what they say they will. I'd rather have that and people I trust any day.

  • Dizzy glad you have been to the docs. You have so much on your plate anyway without being poorly.

And aww Pigpen, lovely image of Twinkle enjoying the "doggies".

atb I am so with you on Christmas. DH has a big family and they refuse to tone down the present buying, although we set a maximum budget of £10 per adult and £15 per child years ago - but even then that''s £140 for all of them, plus everyone else.

So you end up buying everyone c**p that they really dont want and they buy you similar c**p in return - then you have to find somewhere to put it all. Thankfully my own boys have very low expectations on presents nowadays and they enjoy all the food and drink and partying so it was a lot of fun last year.

Right, paid stuff to do. DH is home painting so like Mratb he is not earning money but is making himself useful!

We have the automatic gates going in today :j

Well, I obviously spoke too soon. They are a no-show and haven't bothered to ring and say why.

I also just overheard the electrician who is taking the pi$$ with his work rate (both speed and cost) slagging off my DH to the carpenter. Needless to say, he tried to cover that up when he saw me.

The builders have just sent me an invoice for over £19K that includes £220 to cut a sliver of wood to infill a gap between lintels over one window which the carpenter was faffing about with for ages. The money has nearly run out and we aren't finished yet.

The electrican has just said he's not back until Tuesday, the brick-layers arrived an hour and a half late and only stayed until 1pm and I travelled to Shrewsbury to help out at DH's work to be told after 40mins that the Group Manager wants the work done in small chunks, rather than in one hit. My time and petrol was unpaid, so I'm out of pocket trying to help there too.

I'm actually shaking with rage and want to bawl my eyes out.
  • Oh Dizzy :( have a hug from me love xx
