Where has the weekend gone again. It's been a really busy one and tonight I've just chilled out on the settee and slept from 7.30 until 09.50. Went to see HR tody and have decided to go down the mediation route. I've been given the names of the mediators allocated to me and luckily on of them is a work colleague of mine that I get on particularly well. The other one is not known to me. I was glad that this particular person has been allocated to us as she has known me for many years on a professional basis and we have built up an excellent working relationship and she knows that I'm not a bad person. I'm sure the witch will have something to say about this particular mediator as she does not like her. Saying that she does not like anybody!

Had to take DD to casualty today as she's having a lot of pain in the arm that was operated on at the beginning of the year. I must admit that I've been really worried about this as I'm so afraid that there is some damage to the nerves. She had an x-ray which didn't show up any further fractures and she then had to have a blood test to determine whether there is any infection in the bone. That was an event to remember as she screamed the place down :)

Also went down J's on Saturday and stayed the night then went out with him yesterday, unfortunately the car broke down about 3 miles from his mums house and thank god the dumb blonde had AA cover (something which he'd laughed at me getting because he's in the motor trade!!!). Didn't get home until about 1 am this morning so I stayed at his house again and towed him into work this morning. Luckily the problem was easily sorted and the car is back on the road.

Decided to have a quiet day tomorrow as so much has gone on over the weekend and today that my brain is mushed. Going to recharge my batteries ready for J's court case for his property settlement on Wednesday. This is just an initial hearing and we can't see the ex wife accepting what his solicitor isoffering so the chances are that this will only be a short meeting and an official court date will be set for a judge to determine the settlement. Why is life so complicated.

No money news today, sold 2 items on e-bay but onle made about £3.00 on them both. They were only an old franc note and an old Jamaican dollar that I'd found around the house though!!!

Just popped on before I went to bed and look at what's been happening to you! Do you know I meant to wish you luck last night for today and I'm so sorry it went out of my head...the thought was there though :D
Hope it improves 110% now someone is actually doing something about it. You never know she may decide to leave once the going gets tough, or she may realise that it feels much nicer to be pleasant to everyone and change her ways.
Sounds awful about DDs arm, I'm not going to say don't worry because I would be worrying like mad, I bet you are too! Hope it gets sorted out asap. Poor babe. It's horrible when our kids are not well, you just want to make it all better for them.
Good luck for Wednesday too. What a busy time you're having. No wonder your brain is mushed. I know you're being supportive to J with all this going on but I would take a back seat (well a little anyway) as the easier and pain free you try to make it for him may taint his memory of what this person did to him and you need him to remember her with angst!!!! Do you know what I mean?
Have a very relaxed day tomorrow GR. Keep warm.

Hi there Diz, had a long snooze on the settee last night and found I was too awaketo go to bed at a reasonable hour. Finally got to be about 1.30 am. Got up to put the children off to school this morning then went back to bed and got up at 11. Whilst I was in bed one of the mediators phoned me (it was the one I'm friendly with) and she asked me if I was OK with her beng my mediator as the witch had a problem with it. Luckily HR told the witch that as myself and the mediator did not socialise outside work that it was acceptable. It is difficult when I've been working in the same place for 18 years to find someone who I don't know!!!

Have decided to pop into town this afternoon and have a look around farm foods. They have some good bargains there and I desperately need to fill my freezer up. Got a few e-bay parcels that I need to post as well so will try and get it all done together.

Still not had a reply off british gas, maybe there'll be something in the post today!

Well guys the weekend again. Not had a bad week money wise, won £10 on the lottery and received my free £5 M&S gift voucher for getting a quote from Direct Line (Thanks Martin). Still not feeling great in myself though. Got an appointment at the Docs at 11.00 today and even though I'm not ready to go back to work I know that if I have another sick note my boss will not be happy. I feel as if I'm caught between a rock and a hard place.

I don't think the anti d's have done me any good at all and as a side effect of them is weight gain that's made me even more depressed! I've heard from my mediator and have got an appointment next Wednesday at 2.30 and I'm not looking forward to it at all. I feel as if I just want to hide away and be on my own. At the moment I seem to be alienating myself and even though I realise I'm doing it, at this moment in time its what I want. I just can't be bothered with anything. I wish I could have some sort of injection to give me back by 'get up and go'.

Despite feeling really tired this morning I was uo at 7 and have washed the disches, put the rubbish out, got the kids to school and got washing out of machine and out some more in. SOunds a lot but if you realised the amount of effort it took to do that you'd be surprised!
  • Oooh GR big hugz huni. I wish I could wave a magic wand and make you feel better. By the time you read this you'll have been to the Docs. Hope all went well and I hope you're going to follow your Docs advice.
So...are you ready for this? Now Christmas is coming up how about focussing on that, then by Christmas you can relax and enjoy it all??
Today our focus is writing a christmas card list with addresses. That's all. I mean I love Christmas but I'm not a fan of cards so I always leave this to the last moment and then get stressed when I think I have to do it.
You may already have a list GR, if you do, get it out and then our next focus before Sunday is writing them out, sealing and stamping!!
How does that sound? Don't leave me to do it on my own
Oh and a BIG THANKS GR to you...yesterday OH said 'you've got some post,' anyway usual rubbish, car insurance quotes etc. it's due this month. When I read your post I remembered I did an online quote for Direct Line too and then I thought I've got a letter from Direct Line still sitting on the dining table, my de-cluttering is still rubbish!!!! so just opened and yay I've got my voucher too!!!!!! If you hadn't posted that GR I would have just ripped it up without opening. Unfortunately they were dearer than Swinton and we've just done another deal with them, had gone up by £6 but he knocked it down to £3 so not too bad really. (Not checked my lottery yet either)
Hope to catch you later and that you feel more positive after the Docs and if there's anything I can do to help, even if it's only online just let me know :D

  • Hi GR hope the appointment went well. Sorry you are having a rough time lately. Try not to think of work for now. Deal with that only when you need to.

Thanks for the support girls. Went to the docs and had a note for another month. He reckons it's not worth going back to work until the issues there are resolved. Telephoned work and told my boss that I'm coming to speak to him on Wednesday afternoon following my session with the mediator. He's really panicking now because he thinks I'm going to tell him I'm leaving. Let him stew until Wednesday, that's my theory.

Diz the thought of preparing for Christmas sounds wonderful. I refuse to shop for presents in December anyway so the idea of having christmas all done and dusted before I go back to work sounds good to me.

So far I have bought 60 Christmas cards so that should be enough for me (the kids don't send very many) and also bought 5 of those special cards that you can put money in. The plan is to put £10 per week into a card and seal it ready for Christmas. Have also been through the present box and got a few odds and ends and 2main presents. Have got an idea what to get J's parents. There's a lovely breakfast hamper in Lakeland and I've also fancied 2 china mugs along with coasters and a sandwich tray in TKMaxx so that's one present sorted. Have got absolutely no idea what to buy my 52 year old brother so if anyone has any ideas (other than socks)please feel free to let me know. I'm waffling now arent I. The bottom line is Diz, yes I'm up for the challenge. I'll have my list done by Sunday. Have got £450 worth f saings coming out at the end of the month but if I can buy one present a week before I get that money I'll be happy as larry. My plan is to get something for my great nephew (whose 4) by next weekend.

I'm glad I reminded you aboud the direct line voucher. This must have cost them a fortune. I also sent for one for J so hopefully he'll have either had his yesterday or it's certainly in the post for him. I also has another letter off British Gas saying they were looking into my complaint (again) so I've got to wait for a response!!!
  • Hi GR. Another month sounds just what you need. Why not let them stew, they've put you through enough not doing anything about it, at least now they'll have to do something.
Really glad you're up for the challenge. I'll have my list done by Sunday too and hopefully will have written them out.
Went to Tesco this evening to take some jeans back for OH. Got back in the car and had the music on whilst I sent a couple of texts. Started the engine....flat!! Had to get the RAC out. Started up straight away with the jump leads but he tested the battery and said it's knack***d. Said we'll probably need a new battery before winter kicks in. Ah well...
Have you been on the hampers thread for ideas for your brother. There's a thread specially for pictures only and one for chatting. They look really good when done and you can spend as much or as little as you want. Great for inspiration.
Have a good day tomorrow and catch you later.

I'll pop over to the Hamper thread and have a look later Diz, thanks. Didn;t get up until 11.00 today and have got a mountain of work to get though! Went to Asda yesterday to buy something nice for tea at J's tonight and realised late last night that all I bought was potatoes!!! Will have to pop back out later and get something to go with it. Somedays I'm on the ball and other days I'm just not with it. Luckily today I'm feeling on the ball so should get loads done.

Have stripped the bed and popped the clothes in the washing machine so they should be done shortly and I'll peg them out on the line as the weather is lovely. DS gone to town with him mates and I'm hoping DD will be willing to give me a helping hand. Got the dishes washing as I type and I really must clean the living room. Once all this is done I'm going to start on my Christas card list. I'm not going to get them written by SUnday Diz but that's something I can concentrate on next week when I'm off.

Have done nearly all the housework so I'mjust going to make a list of the things I need to do this afternoon and evening.

Peg more washing out - done
Put more washing in - done
    Wash living room floor
Put shoes away (they are everywhere)
    Pop to Asda
    Write Christmas card list

Doesn't look too much does it. I'll tick the jobs off as I do them.
