  • Good morning all. Have been doing a quick tally of my olympic challenge and I should be hitting the £300 mark by the end of this month. Not fabulous but enough to take me away for a few days in October (hopefully).

Have been checking my Rpoints and have about 4500 points there but the majority of them can't be cashed in until November, which will come in handy for Christmas. Have also had a DKNY watch on e-bay for the past couple of weeks with no interest. Put it back on last week and it ends today and there are 3 watchers on it. It's brand new in the box so I'm hoping to make at least the reserve price of £50 on it. Also got a bid of £50 on some bunk beds that are ending on Thursday and that also has 3 watchers so fingers crossed I can make a fair amount this week.

Well, kids off school today as there's a gas leak at the school premises so DS is out with the boys and DD is at home making a mess :(

Have managed to do some washing which I'm going to hang out on the line as the sun is shining and I may do another load and make the most of the drying weather. Don't plan on going out today again, I'm getting so lazy I don;t know whats the matter with me, I seem to be quite happy to stay at home. Can't go out tomorrow either as DS's new bed is being delivered between 11.30 and 8 pm. Will have to store that in the front room until I can sell the bunk beds and get rid of them.

Oh yes also had an e-mail from Mazuma saying they have sent me my £7 cheque for cashing in an old mobile. Not a lot but it all counts. SHould have that either today or tomorrow.

Think that's me all updated for today, just popping over to some of the diaries and threads that I enjoy reading. Catch you all later GR x
  • Have been a real busy bee today. Listed loads on E-Bay and Green Metropolis (not that I have much luck with GM). Have got 2 items ending in the next 10 minutes on e-bay and have gpt 4 watchers on the watch - please somebody buy it. It'll be another £50 in the kitty. Have also counted out the penny jar and bagged £11 there. Also got somebody picking up 2 e-bay items on Friday night so that'll be another £8 and I didn;t receive the Mazuma cheque today. Am hoping to get to the bank one day this week to pay in all the 'loose' money that's around the place.

Have also been entering loads of competitions and sending away for lits of free stuff. Fingers crossed for me guys x
  • Didn't sell the watch :( so I've relisted it at £5 cheaper. Really need to get rid of it. I have sold some of the bratz dolls though and that's netted me £31 profit. Have also listed 20 cd's on Amazon. SOme of them are only selling for 1p but the majority of them are worth £2.50 so I'm hoping they'll all go and leave some more space for me around the home.
  • Do you make profit on the 1p cds? I found it to be a loss with books after postage and the 83p charge.

Good news with Bratz dolls do you have to padd any profit back to DD? Fingers crossed the watch goes this time. You are doing so well. £300 is great news

  • I do make a little on the 1p CD's. Amazon allow about £1.75 for postage and they usually cost about 60p second class to send so there's a little profit to be had. DD wants the new Camp Rock CD which is £8.95 on Play.com and the rest of the profit is mine....
  • Morning all, am absolutely freezing. Central heating boiler packed up last night. Have had British Gas here this morning but he didn't have the part needed to fix it so he's coming back tomorrow. Got no hot water or heating. Thank goodness I've got an electric fire I can put on. I pay every montn to British Gas so luckily this isn't going to cost me anything.

No updates on the sales today. I've got to post of 4 parcels but they are only for small amounts so no millions made yet. I have had my cheque from Mazuma so that can go into the bank either tomorrow or Friday. I must say I'm very impressed wth Mazuma, they are so quick with their transactions and the fact you can go through Quidco with them is an added bonus.

I've set up a small savings plan this week and have done it through R Points and earned myself £70. It's only to save £15 per month for 10 years but it'll be a nice little sum for the future.

Am still listing things on e-bay in my quest to save enough for a holiday. Hope J is going to agree to this as I'm working my a$$ off getting some extra money!!!
  • Some good news - J has started his paperwork (this is the only thing that's stopping him coming away with me for a few days). He's off work tomorrow so he won't be able to get any done then but now that he's started it lets hope he's on a roll!!!
  • Hi GR. How are you? Well done on those ebay sales. What would we do without ebay?
Hope the boilers been sorted out especially now it's starting to get chilly. Mind you we have had a few sunny days, very confusing.
The savings plan sounds good with the extra £70 as a bonus! :D
I've been doing okay on ebay. Posted 9 parcels today and 1 recorded delivery. The chap at the post office asked me if I didn't mind telling him what I did. The other guy said it can become addictive...he's right there.
Saying that my overdraft is sky high again!!!
Oh GR what can I do about it, I'm getting to that stage were I just think I can't get it down ever.
Anyways, really pleased that you're taking this time out. It sounds like you're really benefitting from it.
Have a lovely day tomorrow hun.

I don't believe in the concept of hell, but if I did I would think of it as filled with people who were cruel to animals.

  • Hi Dizzy sorry OD not budging. Have you looked at a balance transfer? Theres got to be a good 0% out there for you. Mines MBNA. Not ideal to have a cc debt but Im sure youll be more likely to clear it.

Good news about ebay sales though, every penny counts! Are you still overspending on postage though by drawing out a tenner each time?
