Well we're nearly at the end of another week and I'm on course with regards to my savings. Have way through the month and half way towards my target of £200 into ISA. Am really hoping there's not going to be any more problems this month.

Am currently in dispute with the Halifax over my December direct debit payment. They reckon that I'm in arrears with my mortgage because my December failed but both myself and the Abbey confirm that the money has gone from my account. The Halifax have got really rude to me and insist that I send them a copy of my statement. I feel like some sort of criminal!!!!

Will just sit back and wait for a letter of apology.

Have just gone into my lottery account to put my numbers on for tomorrow and I've got £35.00 in my balance - I've won. Can you believe it? I was so excitied you swear I'd won millions. Have transferred £30 back into my bank account and will tansfer it into my ISA when it clears. Also found an old mobile phone last night and managed to get £22 for it with envirofone. Not bad for a few minutes work.

Have managed to transfer another £9 into the ISA, I know it doesn't sound a lot but every little helps. I did think it was hardly worth transferring it, but then it's not as if I can withdraw it and spend it is it? It's so annoying sometimes that the lowest amount you can withdraw from cashpoint is £10.

Total up to £119 now. That doesn't include the lottery win or envirofine money. Will probably have to wait about 3 weeks for the envirofone money anyway by which time we'll be into February and I'll be onto my next target.

Am hoping for a NSD today. I've got petrol in the car, food in the cupboards and lots and lots of ironing to do.

Another NSD planned for today. Lunch at mums and then I'm lazing around and watching all the programmes I've sky+ ov er the last few weeks and haven't had time to watch.

Not got many plans for this week with regards to finances. i must phone the Halifax and find out if they've found my December payment yet. It's gone from my bank account but not appeared on my mortgage statement. Halifax reckon that the payment was returned because there wasn't enough money in my account (which there was). Had to send them my statement to prove that wasn't the case.

Hopefully get it resolved this week. It's payday on Wednesday and I need to be strict with myself again during February.

That sounds great. I'm having an NSD. My car is needing a new battery so £35 later. That will come out of the emergency pot lol! The good thing is that I work in a car showroom & garage but at least it'll be dead cheap!
I hope you get the issue with Halifax sorted. I have had loads of trouble with their loan and they wouldn't let me repay on the 1st. My pay goes in on the second to last day of the month so paying on the 28th like they insisted so it was a bigger incentive to pay it off lol!

I must say the service with the Halifax has really dropped over recent years. I used to have mortgage, credit card, savings account and two current accounts with them but over the last few years I've slowly closed all the accounts down. I now only have my mortgage with them and its been a nightmare over recent months. I know its been paid but they don't believe me. I've asked them to put a note on my account stating that we are currently in dispute, knowing my luck just as my credit record is much improved they'll put a big black mark on my mortgage account.

It's so expensive when cars go wrong, I sympathise with you there. Hope its all sorted now and that there'll be no need to spend any more money.

That's the only thing with stayin indoors to stop yourself spending money, you end up doing all the boring jobs. Have just counted my coppers jar and managed to bag up another £10. Will pay that into the ISA tomorrow and have amended my new total. I need to make another £70 over the next 11 days to reach my target that works put about £6.40 per day to save. Really hope I can do it.

Wow GR you're on a roll...I'm so pleased for you with your savings target. You're always so encouraging on my diary that it's great to see you doing so well. Not only have you got debt free but you're making sure you stay that way.:D
Winter is okay when you're indoors. Don't mind too much if I've got wrapped up warm and taking Tillie (dog) out but otherwise much nicer to stay indoors.
How are you doing with your plans for Christmas 08, you've started haven't you? Said to OH that this year for some gifts we'll get a bottle of wine here and there with the weekly shop so we won't miss it, and give say 4 bottles of wine in a basket (or something) as gifts. Really want to get away from the mad shopping frenzy in december and enjoy time with family instead. What are you doing...buying stuff as you see it or have you a plan?
