Well it's day 10 of the new year and I'm still on track. Who thought I could stay on the straight and narrow for this amount of time. I'm feeling so positive about my finances at the moment and I'm hoping this positive feeling is going to remain with me. Trouble is, I get bored so easily. Have decided to try and get onto this site daily to keep myself motivated.

So far I've got £30 left over from this weeks budget. Hopefully I'll be able to tranfer this amount into the ISA tomorrow and that will bring me nearly half way to my monthly target. The £100 spare money is still there as well, I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that there'll be no emergencies in January and hopefully I'll be able to save that as well.

I'm still £110 per month down on my child support money (ex hubby had to get new job and it doesn't pay quite as much as before) and even though I panicked initially about this I'm starting to feel a little better about it now.

Hopefully have a good day today (moneywise), I'll report back later.
  • Yay well done you. Isn't it a great feeling when things are going well, and they will continue to do so for you GR.
Lets celebrate this good feeling, heres a large drink (of your choice) Cheers:beer:

Have transferred another £10 into the ISA today which takes my total up to £70. Just made a list to go shopping and want all of 6 items. Am seriously going to clear the freezer and cupboard this week and try and save some more money. My aim is to transfer the spare £100 into the ISA by the end of the week.

    Hiya GR
Hope your storecupboard challenge is going well. It's amazing what you can actually cook from what you have in when at first glance you think 'What can I make?'
Keep well and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you regards that ISA target.

Hi Diz, thanks for the support. Had a minor mishap over the weekend. DD fell down stairs and completely smashed her wrist. She's been to theatre twice over weekend and even though she's home now, theres a possibility that she'll have to go back to theatre again. I've overspet on petrol going back and fore hospital and all the usual cr'p you buy when someones in hospital e.g. crisps, pop, magazines etc.

I have managed to put £30 into the ISA so my total is £110 now and I'm still going to try my best and get the £200 in by the end of the month.

Hope everything is going well with you and yours and your still as determined as ever to get rid of the 2 debts. I'm going to pop over to your diary now and catch up.

    Love GR x

GR that's awful to hear about your DD. Don't beat yourself up about the extra money you've spent, you're entitled to at times like that. Hope DD is okay, sometimes they see these things as adventures though not if she's in pain...poor thing.
You keep on doing what you're doing, I suppose the thing about being straight with money is that if things do crop up we have the resources/money to cope with it.
Keep well GR and hope DD feels well soon.
Well done with the ISA too. I bet that's a good feeling watching it grow.

Hi GR, wow you are so determined I admire that. I always have a direct debit which puts it in my ISA BUT if I have any left over I put in the ISA. Also if I make anything with my cashback sites I put it in there, which builds up nicely. What are you saving for?
I am full of joy, abundance, wealth and love.

Hi there Racer256. Don't really know what I'm saving for - the emergencies that life throws at us is probably the answer to that question. I've got to stay determined now that I'm debt free. I don't ever want to go down that road again. I'm afraid at the moment to set up a DD to my ISA, at least until I know where I am and how much money I've got left over each month. I think if I set myself targets each month it'll give me something to work towards. At the moment my Quidco earnings are going into the savings account but I've not been earning much lately. I've even managed to buy another Christmas present this month. Had a lovely leather bag, half price in the sale. :)
  • GR you are so organised thinking about Christmas already.
It is true though isn't it about getting ahead with things. There's more time to enjoy the actual season instead of running round buying last minute gifts that you're not that happy to give anyway...yep that's me. But this year I'd been looking at the 'hamper threads' and made up a few of these before Christmas. Which was lucky really because I got that virus and that was that, definately a good idea to be planning ahead.
