I'm doing quite well with regards to Christmas 2008. Have got the pair of silk pyjamas (Christmas pressie this year that didn't feel comfortable on me!) and bought a lovely leather bag in the half price sale. Have also saved £30 with my mum and £100 in the work savings club. Not bad considering we're only in the first month of the year.0

Crikey that is brilliant, and you're saving extra too aside from the ISA!! I am well impressed GR.:D
How laid back are we going to be come Christmas 2008.
I guess we'll be doing a lot more of this... :rotfl:

Wow GR you are organised. I am doing the Free Xmas Challenge but I only have £5 vouchers so far so I am impressed. As far as the car is concerned I had to call out Green Flag as it died again so hopefully she will start so that I can go to work tomorrow. Green Flag were really quick within 30 minutes so I am getting monies worth lol!I am full of joy, abundance, wealth and love.I am a money magnet. I hate Mondays!!!! Had to go to work an hour earlier than normal so I could have an hour off mid morning to take DD to fracture clinic, been told she'll be off school for at least 4 weeks -
Telephoned the Halifax about the disputed mortgage payment from December and they still haven't looked into it.
Didn't manage to get the coins paid into the ISA so have done very little money saving today and I feel quite annoyed at myself.
Saying that I've started cooking some of the frozen food that I bought at Christmas and there's enough there for tea tonight and lunch tomorrow so won't have to worry about a packed lunch.0 -
Everyone has off days I had one today in fact. I brought my lunch so sick of mince pies (don't ask)for lunch lol. The cupboards were bare thank goodness for Tesco Direct. I couldn't cope with Tesco today. I hope DD is ok. Tomorrow is another and things can only get better. Big HugsI am full of joy, abundance, wealth and love.I am a money magnet. Thanks Racer256 and your right, we all have off days. I've got the post christmas blues, not satisfied with house and job really want a massive change in my life but can't see that happening in the immediate future......
I'm always like this when I'm on a downer, apparently today is the most depressive day of the year, maybe it's rubbing off on me lol0 -
OK I need to get a grip. I can't afford to get down in the dumps. I am determined to stay upbeat about everything. Done absolutely nothing with regards to moneysaving today but saying that I didn't spend that much either. Took a packed lunch to work (second day in a row) and have just been preparing a packed lunch for tomorrow.
Still not paid any of the coins into the ISA, so tomorrow I am going to pay it in and also send of an old mobile phone to envirophone to earn some extra cash. Have even managed to find a mobile phone trade-in company that's prepared to take DD's old phone, they'll only pay me £5 but it's better in my pocket than leaving the phone sitting in the drawer.0 -
I'm not used to seeing you post like this GR. Is there anything you can do to cheer yourself up? I enjoy reading and can get lost in a good book. is there anything you've always wanted to try but haven't got around to it...has to be free though eh?
Hope you start to feel a bit better soon...we're entitled to feel a bit down sometimes, it's human nature.
Do you knit or crochet, just a thought, wools fairly cheap and when you feel a bit down you can be knitting scarves for Christmas 2008 for gifts.
Luv and hugz to you hun.

I'm don't normally get down in the dumps, I just think I've been on an emotional rollercoaster for the last week or so and it's finally caught up with me.
I did manage to get the missing Halifax payment sorted so that made me feel a bit better, it was paid but the Halifax had tried to return it to somebody else's account!!!!!0 -
Well you just take care...
Glad it's sorted with the Halifax...it's never the other way round were someone tries to pay something into our account is it!!!
