I was getting a java message when I tried to launch Firefox. I asked on here and was told to uninstall and reinstall. I did a refresh which has worked but now my spell checker has stopped working. Help:(
My spill chequer is fine.0 -
I presume this is a javascript problem but after updating earlier today, I've just tried to order something from Amazon and at the checkout it won't change from the default standard delivery to any of the other options. If I click on the selection box for either guaranteed next day delivery or the no-rush free delivery the page just refreshes and goes back to the default?
I've just tried doing the order using Internet Explorer and it was fine. Anyone any ideas?0 -

Try creating a new browser profile to see if that helps:

Otherwise, try reinstalling Firefox.0 -

The spell checker isn't working for me. I didn't have any previous version of Firefox installed, so it's a fresh installation of the 64-bit version.
I've tried typing quite a few mistakes in a paragraph of text but no spelling suggestions or auto-correction takes place. The language is set and the spellcheck option is ticked.Error! - Keyboard not attached. Press any key to continue.0 -
I've just tried an Amazon shop again before I tried your suggestions eshul, and this time it worked. I've restarted the browser and updated the shockwave flash plug-in, so maybe that's what the problem was.
No other issues with it, and so far I think it's an improvement.
Edit: can't really help with the spell-check, as while no spelling suggestions come up, I don't remember if it worked in my previous version of Firefox.0 -
Print problem!
Whenever I try to print a web page, I get a pop up saying "an error occurred whilst printing"
Then it throws out a single blank page of paper.
I've looked at the Mozilla Support pages and done everything here
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-printing-problems-firefox
but, to no avail.
If I restart FF in safe mode, it prints OK.
I only have three 'add ons' (ABP, Ghostery and Facebook Purity) but when I disable each of them singly, it won't print!

I am still in two minds about the new Firefox. It is a bit faster but I have to use multiple browsers sometimes to test various things, but it is my primary browser of choice and has been for a long long time, back to the Windows 9x days...
Regarding the spell-checker mine still appears to be functional and I did not have to do anything to re-enable it although I did go through all the 'options' when Firefox upgraded to ensure they were all at sensible settings.
If you go to Tools > Settings in Firefox then in the search box within the settings page itself type in "Spell" you should hopefully get something like this:
As you can see, you can enable/disable the spell check from there as well as change the language it uses. Hope that's a bit of help anyway.0 -
Thanks AndyCF - The option is set as shown with the correct language. I'm not sure but think that if the browser was upgraded from a previous version, then the spell checker carries over to version 57 and works OK. I didn't have any version of Firefox installed before downloading version 57 and installing it. Maybe this is what is making the difference. Well, it's a theory anyway.Error! - Keyboard not attached. Press any key to continue.0

You're welcome.I would of thought it would simply work, this one does at least here for me.
The only other quick suggestion I have is to turn the spell checker off (uncheck the box) and then close all the browser windows, wait a few moments then open one again and verify it is still disabled, then re-enable it.0
