The tabs are a complete mess now they're one long line at the top. I use 3 lines for work (as I need a tons of pages open to get info from) and I can't find a way to get back to that.

I assume you were using Tab Mix Plus too?

I'm sure multi-row tabs were built-in to Firefox at some point It was utter madness to get rid of them.

Thanks for that. I have checked the option not to update now.

But not a lot of use knowing that AFTER the damn things messed all my settings. You would have thought that before releasing a major update that invalidates 80% of addon's they would have had the common sense to have FF give an alert?

Just noticed that the bottom info bar has gone too along with Fox clocks not being compatible now. Just gets worse and worse. . .

They have been showing which add-ons would be set as 'Legacy' for some time, giving developers time to update them or users to find alternatives.
Nothing was done overnight it's been slowly working up to 57.0 for months. Knowing the settings is the first port of call when installing anything new.
    Anyway, lesson learnt...;)

Well it arrived with me about 30 minutes ago.

One moan from me, my bookmarks all had separate folders such as shopping etc. Now I have one long list of all bookmarks. Will have nose and see about getting the folders back.:p

Try the view history and saved bookmarks toolbar icon (three straight and one slanting bar) > Bookmarks> Bookmarking tools > Add bookmark menu to toolbar.
You should get a Star in a tray icon which has the same familiar directory structure as before

Quite a few add-ons won't work with 57. Reminder fox was invaluable, but can't use it anymore - so I've now downloaded 56 and everything works again. It's fast enough for me.

you're probably on my ignore list.

Can I ask where you found v56?? I really need to get rid of 57...

Ok, found 56.0.2 and installed it. Everything back to (what I call) normal.

Seems ok layout is a bit odd to get used to though
  • Hmm I regularly backup my Bookmarks, and before allowing FF or other software to update I set a restore point in windows. Then you don't have to suffer these problems. I use noscript and reloadevery none of which work on 57 so I won't allow it to happen until they work or until I can find a good alternative.

I do think that Mozilla gave lots of notice about the re-write and what was legacy, and the add-ons are free,as is FF nothing worth complaining about really.

After thinking I was smart downloading 56, I've realised FF updates puts me back on to 57.

Can any Techie tell me how to stop further updates. Thanks.

Tools from the top bar, then Options, scroll down to Firefox Updates (near the bottom of the page) and pick the one you'd like to be live.
