OP if, for any reason, you got some extra money would you share it 50/50 with your Dad?0

Depends, if it was a benefit to go towards house hold bills or something like that? yes
If it was a benefit because I'd lost my job, or income from work? no.
The problem is, I'm 99% sure he's pocketing any excess from lodger income and keeping it for himself, that's the issue I'm having
He takes the money from the lodgers, cash in hand and now I'm going over it in my head, it must be £100 a month excess alone from the girlfriend visiting that seems to be going awol.
And yet for the next three months we're supposedly short on the bills and I have to pay £20 extra each month
It just doesn't add up, if I weren't dyslexic I'd take over the bills and such myself so I know it was done fairly.0 -

Oh yea I know, that wouldn't be an issue, I'd still pay my share.0 -
If you have such a large overpayment why haven't you reduced your monthly payments?0

Well all the bills come out of his account, so I didn't know about this until recently
He said it isn't possible to change the direct debit amount and they will issue a check after we've left them.0 -
Did he declare the income from the lodgers when he claimed PC?
No, he hasn't declared the income at all ever since we rented the rooms out.
I did say we need to, but he doesn't want to pay tax (At all)
But it's always been on my mind, because I don't know if I'm liable for tax on that income if my name is on the mortgage/deeds? He's the one who receives all the money, so I assumed not.0 -
Good grief .... all over £200 .... Its hardly worth raising the issue, let alone going separate ways over.
The lodger income though is perhaps something else .... To charge extra for when g/f stays over seems very mean imo ..... unless she is having her own room0 -
If he pays his share, that £200 is his money.
The £200 is for individuals to put towards their heating bill whether their bill is £1 or £1000.0 -

That's fine, I agree now I've read all the replies.0
