We've had lots of really helpful money saving threads on here, so perhaps, on the basis that "Time is Money", we could share our time & effort saving hints. I'm sure many of us could do with some inspiration in managing our time more effectively.

    A few of mine:
    1. Diarise all expiry dates for insurances & removal of bonus rates from saving accounts, etc, and put in a reminder one month beforehand so that you have time to research other options.
    2. Buy a supply of birthday cards & some blank greetings cards in advance so that you don't have to make special journeys.
    3. Menu plan so that one day's meals can be easily made from the previous day's leftovers without having to cook from scratch again.

I'll add some more as they come to mind.
  • 1. Wipe down the oven and hob after every use so you don't have to spend half a day cleaning it when it gets manky

    2. Don't bother ironing bedheets/pjamas/knickers/socks?!?! Quelle point?

    3. When knitting or crocheting hold 2 strands of dk yarn together - done in half the time :D

1 Don't bother ironing full stop!

2 Train your children from very early to do their share

Throw salt on any spills while cooking - that stops them from being baked on :A

The buggest time saving (and kinda moneysaving, but not really cos we all save so much money by using it) tip of all:

    Get rid of the internet.

Of course, it's not one I have any interest in doing and I wouldn't recommend it...

  • When you take washing off the line such as teatowels, pillowcases and t shirts fold them neatly and sit on them while you catch up with all the other OS tips!
The warmth of your bod/b*m gets rid of the creases and in my case(!) they get "ironed" beautifully:rotfl:
May you fill up the great clutterbucket of life and may all of your leaks be in cheese sauce:D

Definitely agree rachbc, though I must get myself some of these [STRIKE]slaves [/STRIKE]children you talk of!! Hmmm, I wonder if I could "borrow" my nieces?? :D

My top tip is just good old fashioned cooking extra! I always make a bit more when I'm making dinner so I have leftovers for lunch the next day! :)

  • If an eraser is really dirty and doesnt rub out properly, rub it against an emory board or nail file and it will be clean and soft.

Or rub it on clean white paper to take the dirty layer away
