  • If you have tiny chips and scratches on your fridge, washer etc you can cover them with Tipp-ex it's much cheaper than a touch-up pot

    try cutting through a piece of sandpaper several times, you'll find it gives the scissors a nice edge.

    This also works well if you have a metal zip that tends to stick after you've washed the garment it's in. A few rubs with a pencil and it should move freely again. - Am I right in thinking they use graphite as an industrial lubricant?

    Yep. Depends on the application... working speeds and temperatures and things - but it still has a place among the many technological wizard things available to the modern engineer :)

    Don't forget that most mobiles have a calulator function, so you could add up your shopping as you go along or, alternatively, calculate the price per pound/gram/item for the various similar products on offer.

  • You can get infinite use out of your freezer bags by putting the food into the free flimsy supermarket bags - and then into your freezer bags - they will stay clean and nice forever, you can pass them on to your children who can then pass them on to their children
