    Rinse milk bottles with cold water and then use the rinsings to water house plants. The milk is a mild fertiliser.

    Cut a lemon into quarters, place into a bowl of water and place it uncovered in the microwave for about three minutes (based on a 800w oven). Let the oven cool for a few minutes before opening the door, then wipe the window over with a paper towel. Cleans beautifully.
