If you've lost a small item eg ear-ring, put a nylon stocking over the end of your vacuum attachment and hoover where you think it is - the item will be sucked up but will be trapped in the nylon.0 -

to test how fresh an egg is, put it in a glass of water:
if it floats on the surface - yuck! dont eat
if it floats half way - not so fresh, but it wont kill you.
if it sinks to the bottom - it straight from the chickens bum (nice and fresh)

Disposable anything is rarely a good thing. "They" want you to throw it away so you have to buy another one! Look for reusable alterantives e.g. cloth dusters (or old t shirts) instead of disposable dusting mitts etc.£2 coin club - £282! (since 9 Feb 06)0
