You can use a defunct shower curtain to use as a garden water slide for the kids, you get a faster slide if you put a few drops of washing up liquid in the water0

You can make a flat sheet into a slightly fitted one by tying a knot in each corner0

If you have a tiny hole in a t-shirt that might spread and sewing it closed might show consider using a dab of clear nailpolish to seal it, it might show a little but probably less than sewing, particularly if you don't have the exact shade of thread0

If you have a shelf in your airing cupboard you can link wire radiator airers together in a sort of ladder arrangement and hang it down from the shelf, this is great for sox and undies, particularly in the summer when it's too wet to peg out, even if your cistern is properly lagged it will still dry your stuff0

If you can, put a rail across your airing cupboard that will take a few hangers you can dry non-tumble dry T shirts, hoodies and tops overnight. Also good for hanging coats when you come home soaked.0

This works best for kids but can also be done for adults. Buy several pairs of socks the same - saves ages when pairing them up and if one has to be thrown away you have one spare to pair up when the next one goes.

mix a box of expensive washing powder with a box of value powder and a bag of washing soda, then use half the amount you would usually use. clean clothes, your favourite wash smell and lasts at least 3 times as long.0
