    When chopping lots of veggies on a board you can't use to tip into the pot - instead of using a small(ish) knife blade to pick them up... use the fish slice it's much faster.

    Use the water you strain off your vegetables to make your gravy with. Saves heating yet more water and stops all those vitamins and minerals from being poured the drain.

    Take some cheap talcum powder to the beach. Sprinkle over sandy feet- wet sand just brushes off. Also for kids swimming - no more struggling to get socks on damp feet etc.
  • You can put all your holiday emergency things like plasters, antiseptic wipes, paracetamol and sewing kit into a see-through pencil case, this is small enough to be taken out with you every day in a hold all

    I use a new pan scrubber to scrub my new potatoes, much easier than scraping, and then the muddy water goes onto the compost or a bit of the garden that needs an extra dose of TLC :)

  • When you have finished with your real Christmas tree, trim the sides a little then use it as a support for peas or beans, you just need to sink it in a hole about 4 inches deep

    I've been Money Tipped!
    When you have boiled eggs put the water to one side and allow to cool down. Can be used to water your pot plants - it has great nutrients in it apparently.

  • You can get more juice out of a lemon by warming it in the micro for a few seconds then rolling it around on your worktop with the palm of your hand
  • If you use cleansing wipes cut them in half (half is plenty) BUT then before you throw them away use them to give your bathroom basin a quick wipe
