    wash and hang everything inside-out especially dark clothes they last much longer as the sun doesn't bleach the colour on the outside.

    washing - if you wear it on your top, you hang it from the bottom. if you wear it on your bottom, you hang it from the top!

  • If you have hard boiled eggs and raw eggs in the fridge and you have forgotten which is which, spin them on the table, the hard boiled eggs are rigid inside and spin perfectly, the raw eggs will roll around drunkenly
  • A potato masher is perfect for lifting poached eggs from the water
  • If you are making soup that will need to be liquidised, only add half of the stock, liquidise the mixture THEN add the rest of the stock, that way you don't overfill your machine

    We all buy those nets of lemons from the supermarket and end up throwing some away because they go mouldy. If you slice them all and then cut each slice in half so you've got lots of semi circles, you can then lay them out on a baking tray, pop them in the freezer, then into a bag and hey presto, you will always have a slice of lemon for that well deserved gin and tonic!
