Sorry I didn't see your post Sue-UU so didn't respond but I would love it to continue. I'm guilty of not always commenting, but have tried to at least add in my semi-regular purse clear-outs. Funnily enough I recommended the challenge, in spirit at least, to a work colleague on Friday. She doesn't do much stuff online (FB is about her limit for online interaction) but the principle of it appealed to her.
Next of course is the hoo-ha of getting it into the bank. I'm told that if you're a HSBC customer you can use their coin counting machines for free - as my M&S account is run by HSBC I'm hoping I qualify for this. I don't think I can even be bothered to have the conversation with Santander about paying in bags of cash. I've got money with them I need to withdraw soon and that in itself will be enough of a challenge. My only other option is paying it into the Yorkshire Bank where our joint account is held, and transferring it over if all else fails. Is it any wonder people are going to the counters and branches are closing???SPCNo.18 #20 (17 £562.86 16 £678; 15 £1120.92; 14 £416.53; 13 £191.52; 12 £260.48; 11 £480.95; 10 £682.31; 9 £442.64)

So only 10 days to go until pot opening day :j I’m very excited about it, I must admit! I’ve loved doing this challenge this year and been so inspired by everyone. I haven’t posted much but I’ll make much more of an effort to post rather than lurk next year! I’ll be working in the morning of declaration day but will be home by lunchtime ready to count up. Happy potting everyone0

This is my first year doing this challenge. On rounding up all my info on my savings this year, Sue,I have a couple of questions.
1. Can I count in money I made from surveys? Normally I get a few vouchers from family at Xmas for books, and buy perhaps 5 or 6 books, then just have to rely on the library for reads the rest of the year..This year I have made a tidy amount from amazon vouchers as rewards from doing surveys, and have used those funds to buy about 15 books this year, being able to buy some of the books I need to finish a special reading challenge which would take several years to collect the books from my meagre funds each year. Did it in 6 months, and have all the books I need now - just need to find the reading time. Hope I can count it in!
2. What about money I have saved up on Tesc*/Icel@nd shop savings cards.Didnt physically go into the pot,but it is savings!
3,Apart from actually saving the coins etc, what about savings I have put in the bank? I do a fortnightly budget and once I have listed all my outlays,I put any surplus straight in the bank.Sometimes it can be a tenner, other times £50.Can that count that count? If so,I have had a great year:)0 -
I spent some money saved (not in my pot) can I count that in or not? Not sure about that one! Put £15 in my pot last weekend, opening day getting closerf!Sealed Pot Challenge member 28

Hi Sue, I am one of those rare posters but I am saving in the background and although this year has been quiet (even on the saving front for me) I love having this thread and the SPC.
