The consultant sort of forced a figure out of me so I threw 11 stones, which for me at my age is very skinny. I said so and she asked "Well don't you want to be skinny" no, I don't! I think 12 st is much more realistic and pleasing to the eye. l look at some before and after pics and think there IS such thing as "too thin"!
It's strange how some consultants do that, mine was the same. I just gave a figure that I remembered being happy with. If I'm honest I was happier to be a small size 12 than any figure on the scales so that was my personal target.p00hsticks wrote: »Morning - I haven't posted my menus for a couple of days but I've been keeping to plan.
Today;
Brunch; ham salad sandwich (HEB), red pepper slices, 35g reduced fat cheddar (HEX)
Dinner: home-made burgers (5% fat mince), potatoes, parsnips, peas
Snacks; red pepper, banana, dates (3.5 syns) and whatever speed fruit I can find in our local shops today
I'm sure there will be loads of Speed around ready for Christmas to top up what you've got on your menu so far.
I've just sort of ignored any syns in the duck denise :owhich is fine when I'm well within range so that's why we haven't had any for ages.;)
When I started reading that sinner's diary I thought it was your plan for Christmas Day bubbs!:rotfl:
I've started to relax a bit but I'm still having SW most of the time. I think you're right to do the same MrsR or we could end up with a couple of weeks off plan and that would be disastrous.
Yesterday I had one more chocolate plus the syns in the casserole sauce so while I'm enjoying myself I'm still being sensible. Today's menu is SW friendly but I may have a few syns this evening if I fancy it.
As an example ssm, Asda's turkey gravy is just 1.5 for 100mls. I make my own but if it's easy you want then that sounds good.
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB porage, HEA milk
L: LO pork casserolesausages, mash, fried onions, cabbage, carrots, peas
Syns: extra porage 6, syrup 2, sausages 2, gravy 2 plus any Christmas treats that I fancy:)0 -

Well, my OH kindly said he'd drive me to Tesco when I told him I was running low on fruit, although if he'd known how long it was going to take him to find a parking space I suspect he wouldn't have offered !
So I've now got another crate of clementines and a honeydew melon as speed, plus some grapes. And there'll be a bit of onion in the burgers, and I might do some sliced mushrooms as well, so I should make a third speed overall today.0 -
Been a busy day today so only now posting today's plan:
B - sweet souffle omelette; frozen mixed tropical fruit
L - HM mushroom pate on toast - SW recipe; made for 1st time. Nice flavour but think I should probably have put a bit less onion or more mushrooms in it. Will definitely make again
D - mozarella stuffed chicken breast wrapped in pancetta; roast potatoes, brussel tops; peas
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - mozarella; pancetta; couple of pastis

That was good of your DH to take you out in search of Speed food poohsticks. Well done him!:T
Looking at your wrapped chicken denise reminded me. DH really enjoyed the Hunters chicken the other evening. It was a YS ready meal but I realised it was just chicken wrapped in bacon with cheese and barbecue sauce on top. I could easily adapt that to make it SW friendly. I must look up a low syn barbecue sauce.
I nipped to Sainsbury's and picked up 2 packs of YS pork mince so I'll make up some burgers for the freezer. I've made some space and when the chicken pie is eaten there'll be even more. :eek:0 -
Maman - I use the recipe on the SW website which I think is Free, IIRC. It makes a nice sauce. I used it a couple of weeks ago when we did slow cooked (on BBQ!) belly of pork when my DD2 and her partner came for lunch.

Thanks I will get some tomorrow... I want everything easy!
Today my food intake has been weird -
I was off work today... but spent the first 3 hours working, and was running late to an appointment so ended up skipping breakfast.
Went into town and ended up having lunch in an all you can eat chinese...I agreed as they have a grilled meat counter... then I realised it is only on a night... so ended up picking what the best food I could. Shredded duck, celery, cucumber.
Omelette with veg/meat
beef in black bean sauce
chicken picked out of a curry.
It is probably the worst meal I have had for calories etc for a long time.
If I am hungry later I am having carrots... I stocked up!
When we got home OH made me walk, we have walked 21,000 steps today so all is not lost.100 -
Don't be discouraged dear bubbs, hopefully the scales will move down soon xxMorning, ladies (and any gents??)
STS for me today - that'll be the Baileys :rotfl:. Unfortunately I didn't stop at two....
Caterina I agree that being 'skinny' isn't a good look for everyone, especially over 50s. As everything starts to head south I think we need a little fat to hold everything up, especially our faces!
Bubbs don't be disappointed with your STS - you've had this little blip before and got back on it.
Todays menu
B Bran flakes fruit and yoghurt
L JP with cottage cheese and salad
D TBC - depends what I can find in the freezer.
