Yesterday we had the chilli from the freezer but wine syns were consumed to celebrate DD's birthday and I had one of my chocolate marzipans too.:D

Christmas food shopping is on today's agenda but meals will be SW friendly and definitely no wine syns today.

I'm making a fairly synful casserole sauce but I want to use up the pork cubes from the freezer. It's part of my plan to eat up stuff that's been in there a while. I've also got a chicken pie. My reasoning is that I'll eat them up now as I'm feeling indulgent and don't have to go to WI. Then I take the hit in January and don' let myself buy anything high syn after that.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, baked beans, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: omelette (using up bits from fridge drawer) with beetroot
    D: pork casserole with rice
Syns: tbsp. each of honey, sherry and cornflour in casserole

Well done all the losers. Didn't weigh this morning but went to group for the party. I made some low syns chocolate mousse and put them in little plastic shot glasses so they were syn free (the whole lot was only 2.5 syns and it made 17).

Maman - you're planning the same as me! Using up stuff in the freezer particularly the high syn stuff! I have some confit duck legs and some baby back ribs to use up - both of which will be fairly high syn.

Supposed to be going on holiday in the motorhome for virtually all of January but DH is now saying if it's too cold we'll just book a couple of weeks to somewhere warm! So no idea at the moment what's happening - it'll have to be a last minute deal if we don't go in the van!

We're getting the new books next week and will be going through them in IT. Sounds like it's a book of "tips" to help with your weight loss journey and keeping the weight off once you're at target but will see next week.

Lost 1 lb this week. Bit disappointed,I worked quite hard and thought it would be a little more,as a small cushion for Xmas excess  I will attend class next week and face the music, wont be pretty. If I finish the year at 3 st 7 lb loss though I will be well satisfied. clear.png
I have tried to avert some temptation this year by drastically cutting out the stuff I normally get for Xmas tea. Waste of time anyway, all my usual 8-10 guests are stuffed from the Xmas dinner, are drinking their alcohol and chocs from their goodie bags and are just uninterested really. Huge amounts of chocs, sweets, cakes and buns and sandwiches are often left over - take a guess who always ate it all over the next few daysclear.png?
Thats a total no-no this year,so I have cut down, and intend to use the £20 saved to reward myself for my weight loss this year with a couple of books I really want.clear.png

My next WI is Christmas Eve. I've decided that I'm going to have a word with my Consultant about setting my Target properly. I joined on 16 October and have lost 1 stone. I initially said that I wanted to lose 3 stone knowing I really need to lose more but did not want to put a figure on it as I found that daunting. Now, however, I feel motivated and am enjoying the plan so want to set a proper target weight and keep plugging away at the mini goals of half stone awards. I'll ask her about the top end of my BMI and go for that so once I have set this I will not be near my 10%.

    It's from this website: http://www.slimmingeats.com/blog/

I won't post the recipe as she asks that it isn't shared without attributing to her so it's easier to post the link.

Snap! I'm planning duck confit too:D. Although the instructions say to heat them in a frying pan, I always do mine in the oven on a rack so the fat drains away and I don't eat the skin so it all helps to keep the syns down.:)

You're right that there's always too much food VALM so well done for cutting back.

I've done all the Christmas food shopping today. I just plan to get some bread and milk on Sunday and that's it. The hardest part was getting a parking place in Aldi but otherwise it was all very painless. The store was well stocked so I got what I needed and then I called into Sainsbury's and finished off.

Planning on cooking the same way. How many syns do you count it as?

Just realised I haven't posted my plan for today (all eaten now):

B - tasters at group - mainly syn free apart from a Bailey's truffle which was 3 syns - very nice it was too.
L - LO 2 pea soup; slice of bread (0.5 HEB)
D - Linda McCartney red onion and rosemary sausages, mash, peas & green beans; splash of gravy
    S - 2 Ryvita; quark; ham (0.5 HEB)

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread (0.5); Ryvita (0.5)
Syns - Baileys truffle; red wine
