Well done, esmy, Sunshine and bubbs; that is brilliant!
Great effort, p00hsticks, Ssm, Chrisv, VALM and Msm.
Sounds like you had a great time, Midge.
I hope beaniecat, is on the mend.
Hi, JemmaB.
Congrats on getting your assignment done and dusted, Mrs_R. I hated writing up online references too.
Kathrynha, delighted you’ve got some goodish news at last.
It’s STS for me this week.
Still not got things back in order after having grandkids stay over and decorator being in. I knew things were going to be difficult organisation-wise this week, so I ordered a Gousto box. Tonight we had smoked fish gratin, champ and garlicky greens – delicious! Not very SW friendly but it was very tasty and filling. I had muesli with blueberries (DH ate the rasps, grrr!) and ff Greek yogurt for breakfast and SW chicken noodle soup at lunchtime. Snacks – shortbread at DD’s and a Borders oat biscuit just now.
Tomorrow we are having the family over for dinner as usual, but it’ll be special as it’s DS’s birthday. How did he get to be 38? That can’t be right!
I’ll have lunch out on Wednesday as I have to go shopping for DH’s Christmas and birthday (yes, I have my own little baby Jesus).
Ttfn.
 Thank you greentiger

Weigh in for me, and I am so partied out and bloated I know I am in for a gain. The question is just how much. Nowt I can do about it though.
Today's plan:
Breakfast - fruit and porridge
Lunch - salad
Dinner - noodles
HA - milk and cheese
HB - oats
Syns - salad dressing (1)Zebras rock0 -
Hello all,
I've finally joined a club using the free me membership voucher and bought the 6 weeks countdown, so I'll be going for another few weeks. At first WI last Weds I had a 6 1/2 lbs loss, very glad to report! I'm sure it will slow down but I'm eating well and never feeling hungry so far. Next WI tomorrow.
I'm resigned to using frylight after all, because oil is better enjoyed on my veg. The best part of it is not eating cakes or biscuits, only tiny amounts of bread, so I've lost the bloatedness. Only having tiny amounts of sugar too (and no nasty chemicals sweeteners from Dr Frankenstein lab) in my 0% Yeo fruit yogurts but they're free so there can't be a lot of sugar in those. And occasionally I have a ryvita or 2 with a tsp jam instead of biscuit and count it as HEB plus 1 syn.
Overall it's serving me well and I'm already planning how to have a low syn Christmas meal. Steaming all the veg, roasting my potatoes and parsnip separately in frylight, the Linda Mac veg roast is 3 for a portion, I can count HEA and HEB plus a few fat syns for the stuffing and another few for gravy. I reckon that with Panettone included I won't exceed 20!Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Well done pooh sticks
I'm starting to come down with a cold, but at least it will keep me off the chocolates:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one:beer::beer::beer:

Welcome Caterina. That is a brilliant first week loss. Even more so with the time of year. If you would like to join this challenge, then just let me know what you would like to lose by the 1st Jan and I will add you to the spreadsheet.Zebras rock0

That's great Caterina. :T I was only wondering yesterday whether you had joined. Sounds like you've taken to the plan really well. Do ask if you have any questions.:)
You're right that the Christmas meals can be very SW friendly. I find that if I'm really greedy (no problem there:D) with my meals then I'm far less inclined to snack on chocolates and nibbles. It's a philosophy I use all year really.
I don't know what's in the LM veg roast but I heard a tip about rolling LM rosemary and red onion sausages into stuffing balls. I'm going to stick to my traditional stuffing recipe for Christmas but I might well use them for Sunday roasts during the year.
Glad you got a pound MrsR. I think we have to take all we can get at this time of the year.:)
Today's EE menu:
B: NAS grapefruit, fried egg, tomatoes, mushrooms, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: ham, LO fried veg, pickleschicken casserole (carrots, onion, leeks, courgettes, celery, mushrooms, butterbeans) with SW roast potatoes, broccoli and cauli
Syns: cornflour0 -
Well done to P00hsticks on SOTW :j:j:j:j:jdawyldthing wrote: »Well done pooh sticks
Thank you :- my very first SOTW
Fingers crossed I can follow it up by claiming a 2 stone 'shiny' by the end of the year - just one more 1lb to that milestone. I had a sneaky unofficial weigh today as I've returned from my long weekend away, and I'm still the same as my proper weekly weigh in was on Saturday, which I'm pleased about. I didn't go mad but did go rather off plan with chinese takeaway, a couple of biscuits, a small slice of sponge cake etc so wouldn't have been surprised if I'd put some on.
One thing I'd appreciate the views of some more experienced forum member on.....
Our plan for a Toby carvery breakfast on Saturday got scuppered as the car park was like an ice rink so we just turned round at the entrance (one car had already gone into the back of us, luckily with no damage, and ones coming out were warning us off).
So we ended up just having to pick a sandwich at an M&S food place on the services. I couldn't see any on wholemeal bread, but thought I'd chosen quite well from what was available - chicken and bacon on brown bread, which was under 400 calories and 'amber rated' for fat content, and at least the chicken would be 'free', I thought.
Boy, was I wrong ! I I later looked in the sandwich section of the food optimising book and saw it says a generic chicken and bacon sandwich is a whopping 27 syns! About the worst one I could have picked !
That's a bigger syn to calorie ratio than for my '105 calorie = 5.5 syn' 2 finger kitkats. Can anyone tell me what was wrong with my thinking so I'll know for next time ?
Anyhow, back on plan now.
Ham & salad sandwich (HEB) for lunch with 35g reduced fat cheddar (HEA), and a fat free cherry yoghurt for afters.
Tea is what we refer to as 'chow mein' - loads of onions, peppers and mushrooms cooked slowly with some ASDA sweet chilli pork strips and served with noodles. Very tasty and masses of speed.
Potential snacks are clementines, bananas and (as a treat) dates.
Syns - 2 for a spray of oil for the veg, 3.5 per portion for the chilli pork strips and 3.5 for a 25 g portion of the dates.0
