For example - clearing our desk in the spare room, or putting away paperwork that has been gathering on a worktop. Nothing fancy, just trying to train myself back into the "getting stuff done" mindsetHave opened another 1.44% saver, now got £7,000 in those accounts, should be up to £10,000 by the end of June. I have to keep in mind the £3,800 credit card balance, but that can be paid off at 0% over a geological timeframe!
Made road-kill toad last night - was great comfort food (squashed flat butcher's sausagemeat in batter - less flour than your average) and a double yolker egg! Served with simple steamed veg (cauliflower, calabrese and carrots). Got chilli tonight. Eating better but feeling greedy, IYKWIMSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

We had a lovely family BBQ yesterday - all good apart from the fact that the wind meant it was freezing - a fact I regretted after six hours! Good chat, catching up with a sibling I hadn't seen for six months and probably a few too many beers
Still, fine by bed time and no punishment this morning.
Today largely a whirlwind of housework: laundry (four loads, all drying in the sun); cleaned washing machine, dishwasher and tumble dryer (month end chores); cleaned the aquarium and did a massive water change (we sadly lost a wee tetra, I don't think anything particularly wrong, just a bit of a runt). Just in case anything wrong with the aquarium I did tests, added a bit of bicarbonate of soda (fending off a very slowly falling PH) and added all the "good" chemicals in slightly higher than usual doses.I have upped the DD going into my ISA for DD, we're now paying in £84.40 (full CB amount, an increase of about 9%). It goes up in June, too early for May DD.2 -
You battered sausagemeat? OMG, that sounds brilliant. Though to eat it with steamed veg is a bit offensive, Ed
Seriously good to hear of your lovely family BBQ though, glad you had such a good time.2023: the year I get to buy a car2 -

Music listeners - worth noting that Sp0tify are putting their prices for a family plan up by 13%+ (£16.99). I wasn't willing to pay that and was lucky in that only two of us use it, allowing me to switch to their "Du0" offering for £12.99 (-15%). Watch out for this sort of sneakiness - £14.99 was already the bleeding edge of what I was willing to pay for the service4

My free share from referring Mrs E to Freetr@de arrived and alas, was only worth £5.64
She fared slightly worse, think she got a share of M3ggit. Still, free money is free money. I've transferred just over half of mine to my SIPP.
Slightly shorter working day than usual planned for tomorrow, looking forward to the Bank Holiday.2 -
Apparently it's time for our H@lifax Kids' M0nthly Saver to renew soon, the rate appears to have fallen from 4.5% to 3.5%. Still, mustn't grumble, we're only using it as a naughty proxy account anyway as DD's money is invested
I am enjoying my day off - largely processing laundry and I have roasted a mahoosive ham that I got in S@insbury's for a fiver.

I had forgotten how boring savings are these days - one of our market leading RS rolled around (4.5%) and the princely sum of £28.64 was added to the account! I suppose it was only £100/mth, but still, bit of an anti-climax. I have added it to the extension fund.
