@Suffolk_lass - thank you - I value your input
It's a disappointment, but we're not the sort of family who goes abroad every year without fail, we will cope.
I have a rare day off today, as DD is at her grandparents and Mrs E is working (poor Mrs E). I have been out already to pick up a tasty cafe breakfast (sourdough bread topped with potato scones, poached eggs, Stornoway black pudding, chilli jam and a bacon crust. We are very lucky in that we live near some reet hipsterish eateries. I also managed the sort of coffee you read about in books where the author is clearly a coffee fan
I have also shuffled the budgets and booked myself a haircut for next Friday.

That breakfast sounds awesome. We are going to a friend's deferred 60th birthday celebrations in July and when we went to their last party at the same venue (afternoon and early evening with a set end-time; very Hoxton-hipsterish) we stayed overnight and had breakfast is a cafe offering similar fare - it's one of the reasons we are staying overnight this time (having booked early enough to upgrade from the perfectly acceptable T-Lodge to the more comfortable beds in the P-Inn this time).

@Suffolk_lass - planned celebration sounds lovely - Premi3r Inn is our accommodation floor, I have experienced a few rather depressing instances of the other chain you mention, missing shower curtains and prison mattress sorta thing.

Last time we were up in the gods on the top attic level but it meant we slept with the window wide open and there was a fan in the wardrobe that kept the air moving. Naught so posh as an aircon unit!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
