Excellent - it will save me a lot of legwork for things that I will need when I move in three and a half weeks:T, you have already saved me some legwork on saucepan deals and the viners site had some good cutlery offers too so I am taking back some that I picked up on Sunday and will order some from Viners. Cheers mate, I love it when someone else puts in the effort and I can be lazy.
I know this should go on your other thread but I am on this one so... Have you looked at any flats yet??£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

IKEA (I know. Sorry.) - "Viren" - 69pThe acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
I bought a set of Viners stainless steel pans for about £35 over 11 years ago. They had a 10yr guarantee. Still going strong. Handles and knobs on lids are all still intact. Looking a bit drab now, but I'd bet there's still a good few years left in them yet0

Having said that, that Viners starter set is a real bargain. I'm sorely tempted now, but I don't know where I'd put it all.
I'm in a quandry now too. I think I've still got a take-away menu in the glovebox ...
.... 2 saucepans  ? - what about Christmas Lunch? No way could I manage that with only 2 pans!
My dad always insisted on 2 frying pans (50's/60's/70's) because he said that fish should only ever be cooked in the same pan that isn't used for anything else - mind you, that was back in the day of non-nonstick.
I have two frying pans myself, two different sizes. The big one is good for doing a fry-up all in one pan but then use the smaller one for the fried egg. I got them from Wilkos and they've never had stuck-on bits. Only ever had the inside wiped with kitchen towel - though the outside has had to have a hot 'soapy-water and green-scourer' treatment.0 -
Hi
I'm after a bit of advice, we are getting married in October and my future father-in-law has given us £250 :j:j to buy some decent saucepans and i'm at a bit of a loss at where to start , and i thought this would be the best place for this advice.
What would you all recommend?? What are your favourite makes??
I love cooking and having decent saucepans would make such a difference no more praying the handles wont fall off this time :eek: would be good.

Hi snoopy_and_woodstock,
This thread may help: which pans to buy?
I'll add your thread to that one later to keep the suggestions together.

Congratulations  Which pans you like depend on so many things
I swear by cast iron Le Creuset, as I cook on a Rayburn. However, they're heavy and not for everyone
I'll add this to the existing thread on pans so that you can browse the ideas of others
Edit - I'll let speedy do the merging  :rotfl:
