I have a variety of pans but the one's that I love the most are my Tefal ones, they have a realy good non stick (and seemingly non scratch even after 3 years use) interiors. They also have rubber type handles that stay cool and are very easy to hold and grip.Dishwasher proof too. They cost me £60 three years ago for three lidded pans and a milk pan and were well worth it as they seem as good as new.0

I have a set of Swan stainless steel ones that I bought from the Co-op for £7.99 years ago. They're great pans and they still look like new - even the bottoms of them. Easy to clean with Astonish paste when stuff get stuck to them. They've outlasted my non-stick ones. The only thing I don't like about them is that they have stainless steel knobs on the handles. and they get hot!
I also have a pot that is 50 years old for making soup in (parents got it as a wedding present). My mum has one that's a lot older (used to be my grandparents) - she used to boil our nappies in - and still makes broth in it at Christmas!!0 -
My saucepans are James Martin, they are these ones:

Would recommend as they are well made, heat food evenly are all metal so can go from stove to oven, the handles don't get too hot to touch if you just use them on the hob. I've had them about 3 years now and they look good as new except for some burn marks on the bottom. But I would not pay that price for them!
I got them instead from TKMAXX homeware which is amazing for kitchen stuff. I think the pans cost about £12-15 quid each IIRC!! They have loads of different designer/celebrity makes but usually a bit random and you won't necessarily get a full matching set.0 -
We recently replaced our old Tefal pots with the Tryply Stainless steel Elite pots from Professional Cookware Store:
http://www.procook.co.uk/?offerDetails=101&offer_d=32&offer_sde_name=Cookware
They have a bigger range in store and we managed to get 3 pots and a frying pan for £122! Full price usually around £300.
They were already reduced in the summer sale and we managed to blag an extra 10% discount because we said they were not reduced by the same amount as the non stick pots. They go from hob to oven to dishwasher with no problems and, as the handles are silicon, they do not get hot when on the hob - only in the oven.
So far we are really impressed with these. Our Tefal pots were 6 years old and, due to constant washing in the dishwasher, they were really looking terrible, although the non-stick coating has not yet worn off.
I also have a cast iron pan that we were given when we got married, which is not actually dishwasher safe and has some signs of oxidation on it! I believe all we need to do is re-season it a few times to bring it back to its former glory, but I've not yet done that.
Good luck with buying your pots!0 -
Hi Snoopy :hello:
Are you determined to buy the saucepans before the wedding? If not you could wait and see if the Wedding Fairy brings you a Remoska - if she does then you can go saucepan shopping armed with your list of MSE reccomendations - if she doesn't then you could adjust your saucepan spending and buy a Remoska first then decide on some saucepans to go with it IYSWIM.

Anyone got any tips for me please????
I would like:
Stainless steel
No non-stick
With glass lids
Dishwasher proof
for ceramic hob
With sealed handles so the water doesn't collect there in the dishwasher and go over the floor as I pick them up!!!
Preferable ones that won't buckle on the bottom (we have two that have "blown" and so don't heat up as they don't sit on the ceramic hob)
Preferably without a celebrity name emblazened over them (cue Tefal and Jamie Oliver )
And am currently broke so looking for the quick and dirty one off saucepan for the moment (probably be woollies or Tesco) - and then saving up for the set that ticks all the boxes and will last for many years!! Unless of course there's a set where I can buy one every other monthworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Has anyone ever used these saucepans:

Newlywed,
I have a Judge Vista set from Robert Dyas which I bought 2 years ago but which they still appear to sell. It fits all your specifications except for the sealed handles (which, even so, don't collect half as much water as the handles on my stockpot).
You get three pans with lids, one small milk pan, frying pan with lid, and steamer pan which fits over any of the others. All the lids (except the frying pan one) have two gauges of draining holes so you don't need to drain into a colander. I have had them for a couple of years and they are good with my ceramic hob. The only one I'm not completely happy with is the frying pan, and that's because I think I would rather have a non-stick one.
Robert Dyas still stock the same set for £49.99 the lot, although it's out of stock on their website. It's product code 138204.

Thanks Bargain Rzl.
I like the idea of the draining lids - sounds like much less faff
I already have a non-stick frying pan (cheapie Tesco one I think). In fact I have a steamer pan, stock pan, and frying pan it's just the stupid pans you need to use every day that have blown bottoms and don't heat!!!
That's a good price for that set though... Might have to keep checking the website.
It seems like a good price for pans with 25 year guarantee - other websites have the set without the steamer insert for £75 (which still seems quite affordable).working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
I got a couple of Tefal compact ones (with folding handles) and they are great, really non stick - had them for about a year so far and even porridge just wipes off, nothing really sticks to them and they are easy to store...Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0
