Aaargh, I am looking for saucepans too (need to have stainless steel because am moving to a flat with an induction hob) and thought I had it all planned until you lot showed me these. fizzel81 I like the look of the set you have posted - for anyone else, here is the link, just don't buy them all before me and fizzel get a look in...

its definitely worth the investment in decent pans - they will last you years.

I would recommend riveted handles too - my mum had a set of cheap pans once with non riveted handles and I picked a pan of boiling gravy up and it went all over my foot as the pan came away from the handle.

  • Just to say that my cutlery is a viners set that my mum and dad were given as a wedding present (they got two sets) 42 years ago. They gave it to us when we got married. And they are still using their viners set as well.:D

I think when I want new saucepans I will look at viners. We got Tefal non stick ones for wedding gifts 6 years ago and they are already looking worse for wear!

Good luck SS with the moving out.

    Just to add my experience,
I bought a set of Viners pans from an offer online. After a few months the copper bottom started to separate on the two smallest pans.
These pans came with a long guarantee but I had long discarded the receipt.
I emailed my findings and quickly received a paid label to return one of the affected pans for inspection.
This was quickly checked and I was invited to choose a full replacement set. I received this swiftly and all has been well since. I still use the pans they didnt want back!

So yes good pans and a good manufacturer.

Good customer service. However, I always scan my receipts for things with these very long guarantees. Receipts, especially the heat printed ones, fade over time.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

You see, this is why I never help with the cooking. :)
